Three drown on NSW coast as dangerous surf continues

View descriptionShare
Three people drowned in separate incidents on New Year's Day along the New South Wales coastline, with two people still missing at sea. Lifesavers conducted more than 100 rescues between Christmas Day and New Year's Eve as large and dangerous swells threatened beachgoers. The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a hazardous surf warning for the entire NSW coastline, with all drownings occurring at unpatrolled locations without lifeguards on duty.
