NSW grants Monday off for Anzac Day weekend

New South Wales, the ACT, and Western Australia will observe a public holiday on the Monday of the 2024 Anzac Day weekend when the day falls on a Saturday. The NSW Premier announced the change with support from the state's RSL, noting that South Australia and Queensland already automatically grant a Monday public holiday when Anzac Day falls on a Sunday. The RSL President emphasises that the Monday public holiday is separate from Anzac Day itself, providing an opportunity for serving defence personnel, cadets, and reservists to spend time with family after working on Anzac Day.
