Should you wash your gym clothes after every use? That's the great activewear debate dividing the nation.

She environmental body has ruffled feathers by suggestion that people should only wash their gym clothes once every three wears. Let's go live to Georgia, Costi on the Gold Coast, Georgia.

Melbourne.

Academic says otherwise.

Yeah, guys, that's right. As a journalist, look, I have to admit you go to some pretty confronting things. You hear of some horrible stories, But I have to say this topic is pretty up there after what we've discovered here in broad Beach this morning, some pretty concerning answers. All of this actually started a few months ago in France, of all places, where the government there was telling people that they could wear their active wear for up to three wears for a number of reasons. They say, firstly it's good for the environment because you're saving water, but they also said it's good for the longevity of the clothes. However, a textiles expert from r MIT University in Melbourne isn't quite sure about all of that. She says, the majority of our active wear is made from synthetic materials and that is a huge breeding ground for bacteria, particularly in humid places like the Gold Coast where we are. This morning, So we did what we do best. We took to the streets and asked the all important question about how often people watch their active where. This is what the locals had to say. I can only wear it once. Yeah, I run pretty hot on a sweety miss when I train because I just like go hard. So yeah, one time or one time only. Well, hopefully no one's close enough to just mail me personally.

Once a week.

Yeah, so all that smell from the groin area is just like permeating across the How often do you watch your active wear daily? What are your thoughts on people who wear it a few times without watching running? Right now, we're really getting amongst it there. I do have to say respect to the people who were honest on live TV. One man did tell us that who wear the same outfit for up to a week and he was very sweaty. But also Brett's raised a good point earlier. If you're not washing it, where are you leaving it? Like, is it just festering and there in the corner of your bedroom or another good point is if you aren't washing it straight away, but you're wearing it around the house or sweaty for a few more hours is that equally as gross. I think so. But guys, we just left with more questions and answers at this point.

Well, no, I feel I air it. Yeah, I hang it over something. You're not a sweater, right, You're not a big sweater. I don't want to be Prince Andrew because like he's on the outer. But instead of hanging over one person, there's a couple of people you don't.

Want to be.

Yeah, you're going to go to the trouble of hanging out.

You might as well just wash it if you want.

If you're run in the rain, that wash or jump in the ocean after a run. I was thinking the same thing things I don't do. But yeah, more like a pilate, low waist conditioned. Do you do a smell test? Do you do a There was a wast of stranding treasurer and who got into a lot of
