Ed Sheeran crowned honorary co-mayor of Ipswich

Pop superstar Ed Sheeran has been crowned honorary co-mayor of Ipswich, Queensland, after making a surprise appearance in the city following a concerted campaign by locals. Ipswich Mayor Theresa Harding attended his Sunday night concert at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, where she presented him with her mayoral chains backstage and received a shout-out during the performance. Sheeran gifted the mayor a signed Loop Tour merchandise shirt addressed to 'the mayor of the second-best Ipswich' and expressed interest in attending a Bunnings sausage sizzle during his upcoming Melbourne shows.
