For more, Liam Bland reports.
In breaking news, the twenty six year old has been charged after a home invasion just south of the Queensland border. They left a grandfather injured. Let's go light to Liam Bland lea him and arrest has been made. What can he tell us?
Good morning, Eddie, that's right and what a terrifying ordeal for the homes owner, Alan Kerr, who remains here at Gold Coast University Hospital this morning. He suffered a partially severed arm inflicted in what police say was a violent invasion at his home of more than thirty years. On Tuesday night, two men allegedly armed with an axe forced their way into Allen's home and they struck the sixty six year old. The grandfather, remarkably though, was able to defend himself and he stabbed one of the intruders in the chest with a knife, killing the twenty nine year old one of the men. Another intruder fled this scene, but last night police made their move, charging a twenty six year old man at another home at Kingscliff. He's been remanded in custody and he set to front the Tweedthead's local court later today, Eddie. At this stage police are still working to determine if this was a robbery gone wrong or a case of mistaken identity.
Thank you Liam
