Daredevil through a queer lens - Ainsley Smith

“Stranger than Stranger Things,” demonstrates and explains a  psychological phenomenon called cryptomnesia, a situation when we mistakenly think we have an original concept but it is someone else’s and we fail to remember. An interview with Sydney musician, Melissa Kenny, presents her complex creative process and how she safeguards from cryptomnesia through a structured approach and exercising her memory.  Since we are all susceptible to this strange behaviour, I encourage listeners to be curious  rather than judgmental.

I’m Brenda Stewart, a Psychology Honours student who is passionate about well-being and  emotional wholeness and an advocate for healing through education, growth relationships  and mind-renewal. I plan to practise psychology in either a clinical or educational setting.  This podcast is one small step to spur curiosity, awareness and understanding of our common  misbehaviours. Dream Cycle is a podcast build through designing an audio soundscape that dynamically and fluently flowed between the realms of darkness (using deep tones) and light (contrasted with higher frequencies). The story of the podcast revolves around a curious-minded child, Benton, who we follow into a dream as he
uncovers the truths of his subconscious and the unimaginable depths of his psyche. This episode entitled ‘Somniac’ is part of a wider series of fiction podcasts called The Dream Cycle.

I am a current Bachelor of Music student at MQ and am engrossed in the world of modular synthesis and digital music production. I would like to gain further experience in the music industry as well as sync licensing and have been releasing electronic music under the alias, Deverence, for almost 7 years. If you’d like to delve into the world of Deverence, he is best known for his genre-bending style and is on all major streaming platforms across the world

It discusses what the stereotype is, as well as why women are hesitant to take up a career in audio production. This includes topics of gender roles, unequal opportunities, and unrealistic expectations.

 Zoe Bunyan is a Music and Sound Design student at UTS. Born a country girl and moved to the big smoke to peruse a career in audio production or music business.
