Join Tezlyn Figaro and Jade Harriell unpack this case and many other hot political topics such as an update on the Biden border crisis.
Want to ask your question real. Let's just keep it real. Straight shye with no Chasing. I'm gonna get a little bit rough. I'm here for it. But also if you are on Apple, if you subscribe to me on Apple, make sure you go in and make sure it still has you subscribed. I don't know if it's a subscribe or the follow button, but make sure that you do. We did get noticed that there's some type of glitch going on with Apple that had been unsubscribing folks. I want to get our numbers up this year. I'm really really I want to go way past the million mark of dedicated listeners this year, and I need your help to do that. So if you could invite just one friend or two, say hey, just subscribe to it, even if you don't listen to it every week, even just to click the subscribe does make a difference, and it keeps voices like mine on the airway. And that's critically important when you talk about iHeartMedia, the largest audio platform in America, and just so you know, seventy percent of podcast listeners are white. So it's very, very important that we're showing that black people also have interests in podcasts, not just YouTube needing to see everything and be entertained and Instagram, but that we too are audio listeners. And what Black Effect is doing it's powerful, you know, starting an entire network that centers black voices across the board. That was not easy to do. Shout out to Charlemagne for partnering with iHeart using his leverage to make that happen. And so we want to make sure that we continue to show our interests. And next month will be four years that I've been on Black Effect. I was one of the first people in the first rollout. Well, I was in the first rollout of the first people that they introduced, and so I'm very, very very proud of that, So make sure that you subscribe. I have Jade Harrell with me who will be joining will continue to keep joining me on this. I hope you enjoyed the new format. I've been getting a lot of good feedback. Michelle Wadley she's been joining us as well. But great news. She is now running for state representative and so yay, So Michelle is running for state representative and so we definitely wish her well. She has a race that's coming up in August, and so all of her attention needs to be focused on that. But congratulations to her. She still wanted to join it. I was like, Michelle, I don't want to interfere with no, none of your time. And she might still join, you know, from time to time, but for the most part, you know, this does take time to be a part of Straight Shot, and so we want to make sure that her time is spent, you know, focus on the things she needs to do, which is number one, raised money. So we'll give you more about her race. We'll interview her very soon to talk about her race, to talk about why she's running but I just want to put that out so you know why she's not here, and shout out to Jade for joining us as well. Might as well go ahead and say my official co host, So thank you so much, Jake. We're going to get right into it. You know, Jade, I want to go straight to how Fannie fumbled the bag. Speaking of Fannie willis in Atlanta, Georgia, and so we're going to save that towards the end of the show. So make sure you guys continue to listen. But Jade has some updates she want to give you guys first, so let's get to it.
Yeah, there's a lot going on. Apparently NYPD is preparing to revoke President Trump's gun license. You know, he was found guilty on thirty four accounts spelling the accounts of fraud last week and so this week today, the conversation is about his ability to carry a gun or not. So I wanted to throw that out there. That's an update. This is a really, really crazy election season. Tes So yesterday Biden surprised everyone with an announcement that he was going to be doing border of a new border plan. Surprise, surprise, I guess I don't know is he thirsty for votes? Is he looking for votes? So there was a lot of information circulating about this. People assumed that Biden was actually shutting the border down, but I did some research. Of course, TES and CNN put out an article about the three big questions that we should be talking about when it comes to Biden's new border plan. First off, is Biden closing the border? Actually, his proclamation did not say that he is closing the border completely. This proclamation still allows for normal flow of commerce and legal immigration across the border, but it bars migrants who crossed the border illegally from seeking asylum once the daily threshold is met, And so they're saying that once twenty five hundred people pass the average the average is actually two thousand, five hundred people a day. It's gotten up to like three thousand, five hundred people a day, but once a threshold of fifteen hundred people per day is met, then they're just kind of kind of let people in. So it seems like they're just trying to slow down the traffic, but they're not actually shutting the border off completely. And so they are restricting as silent and there are some exhibtions for asylum seekers according to the new restrictions, including unaccompanied minors, So they're trying to figure out what's going to happen to young people children that are unaccompanied that cross. And then also migrants will still be able to use accustoms and border protection app to request an appointment to present their asylum claim. So that's the first big question that's being answered. Being asked, is biting closing the border? No? Not really. The second one test is does.
It let me kind of jump in on that just quickly a couple sentings, because there was a lot of conversation about, you know, saying that this was like Trump's policy, he's pulling from that policy, but it is not identical because you'll hear a lot of conservatives say he could have just reinstated when Trump. When Biden got in, he reversed Trump's by the border policy, and so now the conversation was saying, oh, he's picking it, you know, Trump's policy back up. So it is not to your point, ja, not verbatim, but did pull from that? And yes, it is absolutely political, but not just political just because we just got to guys, you know, nobody wants to call a thing a thing, but I'm a bad call in balls and strikes, and Republicans have successfully whether you agree with this or not, they have successfully made this an issue. They've successful made an issue. And because in twenty eighteen, twenty sixteen, you couldn't even use the word illegal immigrant, couldn't say nothing about immigration. You were canceled you. They did it to me, they did everybody. Anything like that was such a strong like they were. Democrats were crystal clear, you know, come here, welcome all. And what conservatives did was they took that message in because they kept talking about it forever. When they drop those migrants off and those Democrat cities, which some would say they targeted black mayors, obviously all of them were black. That could be some truth to that, but the bottom line is when they drop those migrants off in those inner cities, and now you're hearing liberals and Democrat mayors having to say we have bigration problem, specifically in New York, in Chicago, let's s whitch the game, jay, And now people on the left are saying, oh wow, it is a problem. I was looking at some numbers. I think it was like seventeen percent of people that didn't make it a top issue, but now it's like sixty percent across the board as an issue. So Republicans have strategically once again being the minority, but still strategically beating Democrats at their own game. And guys, this is the part that's frustrating why I'm independent and why I left the Democrat part in twenty twelve. They keep beating you at your own game. And the reality let's just talk about the political part right quick. The reality of it is is Biden, you ain't winning over nobody with that. The people that's already decided to be with Trump, they're gonna be with Trump, like, It's not like they're gona say, oh wow, well Biden is doing someone in gracil. Now I'm gonna rock with you. The decision has already been made. But now he's hurting his base who push for immigration. So basically you shouldn't know them to try to appease Trump's base that ain't gonna rock with you anyway. So I know you wanted to have that as a card to be able to say, you know they're debating next month, to be able to say or is it this month? Can remember the date? To be able to say, well, I did do some of that immigration, But don't worry, Trump is still gonna say, well, you should have did it before. They're always people that don't rock with you are always gonna move the gold posts. If he says he did it, well, you should have did before. If he did it before, they still said it was wrong. When people got their mind made up, they ain't rocking with you. They just ain't rocking with you. So the best thing a politics to do is to pee appease your actual base. So I just kind of wanted to throw that out there because I know people that don't rock with Biden and include black people, still like, well you should have did it before. They're not moved by it. So I don't know if he's gonna gain more from this or lose more from this, but I guess time will tell.
Yeah, time will definitely tell. And just so we remember, the first of two of the presidential debates between Biden and Trump is set for this month. Test, so you were right. It is on June the twenty seven. Now, Yes, Republicans have successfully made the border and immigration and illegal immigration a major issue even within the black conscious community, the black grass roots community. I mean you reference like twenty seventeen, where you couldn't you know, back then, you couldn't even use the word illegal. Well, during that time, I remember folks boots on the ground. Our primary concern was police brutality. We were talking about police brutality, Black men and black women being pulled up by the police, killed by the police, and all these unlawful traffic stops. And in my opinion, based off of the discourse I'm seeing, especially in online communities, black folks are hyper concerned more about immigration, illegal immigration and legal immigration altogether, and it seems that the police brutality issue has taken a back seat. But you know, yeah, they've been really successful with this campaign. I do believe that the border is absolutely an issue, but I think what Biden is doing or attempting to do, is a little too little, too late. Now, the second question that's posing this article from seeing is doesn't Mexico have to agree to this? Their cooperation is key, It's a key part to any immigration initiative between the two countries because you know, we do share a border with them, But it's not necessary. Now they are saying that Mexico has kind of cracked down on illegal crossings on their side from the border. But we know that there's a new president. The new president of Mexico is President elect Claudia shine Bomb and she will be in for six years, and so they don't know how she's going to react, and I know she's pretty liberal. They don't know what her level of cooperation is going to be with this new border patrol planned from Biden. And finally, the third question is will this new initiative from Brighten get blocked in court? So new measures went into a fact this morning Wednesday at twelve oh one am. But before it was even officially announced, the American Civil Liberties Union, the the a c l U, they had already said that they are going to challenge the administration with this in court, arguing that denying migrants the chance to seek asylum is.
Illegal, and they won that case last time. By the way, they did the same thing with Trump. So they don't care about Democrat or Republican. They absolutely plan on some When they did do it, they wasn't just talking to back it up. And so we're gonna see so again either way it go. You know, Biden's gonna say, hey, I did my part to do my best. This is all a triple off it. Everybody does what they're supposed to do. He puts his stuff out to say, I'm gonna do it. Aclu say, don't worry about it. We're gonna fight it. Which we're gonna I'm saying this because I'm gonna loop this around to the Fannie Willis conversation that everybody's gonna always there's always gonna be a reaction, Jerry action. So nothing may really not change on the border, but I'm sure Biden is expected to say, well, I did do my best. Now it's in the you know, they keep moving the goal, you know, moving it down, kicking the can down the road, and that goes to your porn. People say it's too little, too late. So we'll see, you know, if it makes a difference in the polls here the next you know, thirty sixty days or so. Well, I guess we'll move on the find and ready to get.
To get money. Okay, go ahead, we gotta go there. Huh, I guess we'll have to go there. Yeah, Fannie ooh, that that case, that case has been paused indefinitely and definitely. And in all their articles I was reading tests they were saying that this issue probably won't even be addressed until at least like the spring of twenty twenty five, that's well after the election. If I was one of her constituents and on this particular issue is actually I would be pissed because the personal this is an example of your personal life interfering with business. This isn't just business, this is the future of the country. And I can't make her guilty or responsible for what Trump did because we clearly heard those tapes. However, her responsibility as a prosecuting prosecuting attorney in this play like the things got really messy, they got all entangled, and now this is the result this. It seems like it's just going to be an easy cakewalk for Trump to get back into the White House. And that's when him and his team wanted all along. And I'm frust.
And you know, again Michelle's not here. But you know, as you saw me tell Michelle in the group chat, I will absolutely not take a moment. I will take a moment to put on the record. I told you so because Michelle argued me down and said that she shouldn't have to refuse herself because white men wouldn't have to do it. Well, guess what the breaking news is. She's not a white man, so we have to play at their game. And she has several opportunities to refuse her Why not refuse yourself from the case. Let somebody else try the case. You always go down in history for the one that charged them. You always go down in history. Michelle was saying, Oh no, she's the only one that knows about it. She's one of the best. No bullshit, you bring in, She's not the only one that can do this. You bring in somebody else to not lose. Sometimes walking away is the wind. The moment that that affair became an issue was the moment that she should have refused herself from this case. But instead she rolled the dice. She said, Nope, went around to the churches doing all those speeches about how they coming after me because I'm black, I'm this, I'm not. She went to the trial, aired all of that business out there, gave them all the cards to play with. Did she did all the had all the provocative testimony, the means all of that. Oh you go, girl, you showing them what time it was? Well, guess what, Jaye, who showed who what time it was? And at the end of the day, you still lost. So even though the judge said one of y'all got to get off this case, the judge is telling you that there was an appearance, an appearance, just the appearance of vropriety, an appearance of a complict venturest an appearance. That was enough. The judge said that. So that's why Wade got off the case. This was the second opportunity we got to name these times. This was the second opportunity that she should have said, Hey, y'all didn't put me off, but I'm gonna get off myself. I love being able to quit instead of getting fired. MM that's why people say you got fired, fired from where I run my own business. I walk away. I don't it ain't no, you can't get fired if you were never hired. Okay, So this was an opportunity a second time to say I'm gonna walk away from this. Hey, I was victorious. We did. They didn't put us off. I'm gonna walk away. I'm gonna focus on my reelection and I'm gonna move on. She did win her bid for Democrat nominee job, but Jade, I think that even pushed more into her believing that she was somehow the exception to the rule. I think that poured into her ego to say, oh, yeah, yeah, you can beat this. Okay, it really is, you can just do whatever. There's a conversation I was having with my attorning friend offline about this, that she's going to have a conversation between the entitlement of it all. You know, she does come up from a very elite family. You know, dad was in legal judge, all of that. Did you think you were different? What made you think you were different? Well, getting re elected to her seat maybe that made her think she was different. Maybe I don't know what it was, Jade, but any first year lawsuits.
I think it was before the reelection because she had to go and see if she would qualify to you know, run again, and once they they kind of say yeah, you're good to go. She was really happy, she.
Said, Devin, before the election, I'm just saying that powered on.
They kept on.
Kept thinking oh yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm not nothing is hurting me with this, let me proceed on. Yeah. Yeah.
I saw the way she lit up, especially during those that press conference when she was there, she was like, yeah, and I'm on a ballot and it's all good, and it's like, no, it's not all good. Even though Nathan Wade had stepped down from the case, he then immediately went on a press on a press tour right now, and it's still talking because I think, you know, last week or the week before, I think he made some more public statements. None of this has helped this situation.
Right, So now, were you judge already put it on record that there was clearly the appearance of a conflict of interest. There's nothing to dispute Jay, So now people are saying, well, she's still gonna recuse herselves. No. Timing is everything, especially in politics. Timing is everything. Trump is getting ready to be the Republican nominee, and like you mentioned, we have an election coming up in November. This case is not happening until spring of next year, so timing has everything to do with everything. And out of the three remaining cases, this is the strongest of all of them as far as a criminal charge is concerned. So if you wanted Trump to go to jail, it's not likely going to be because of that hush money case, because there was no victim in a hush money case, and in order to go to jail. It's one of the lowest feelings classy felony. In order to go to jail in New York for that type of felony, they need to be able to point to a victim. There's no victim. He just paid off somebody. You know. It wasn't like it hurt the general public. So it's more than likely not going to go to jail. This was him, clearly as him for twelve thousand more voth so there was clearly possibly a criminal conviction that could have came out of this. And now that whole thing got fumbled. But I'm not saying that as a Trump I mean I want to get Trump locked up. Support of Trump, not Trump. I don't support Trump. I'm just calling for what it is. She fumbled it, and that's just the bottom line. And we just have to name that, Jade and be okay with name it that, because people need to know. You got to know when to hold him and fold him and walking away sometimes is the victory. It's victory and walk away instead of allowing your ego to keep you in something approved some damn point and you roll the dice. And now even again, even if she recuses herself. It doesn't matter. It's been postponed.
It's been postponed indefinitely tests Georgia Court of Appeals and definitely causes the election subversion conspiracy case against Donald Trump, and they're saying that they are not it says the appeals court is expected to rule on a disqualification issue by March of twenty twenty five. Though they could issue a ruin soon sooner, they're not expected to do it until March twenty twenty five. That's well, again after as we said, well after the election. This is really interesting. Of course, I just checked. I've been refreshing and refreshing. Da Farnie Willis has not made any comment on the appeals court ruling. And in order for the appeals court to rule in this case, they're gonna have to get a panel of judges and so I'm sure that that is going to be a process as well. This is really interesting, and you know, indefinitely like and that shows no urgency whatsoever. And I know Trump and his team is jumping up and down right now.
Of course, they did exactly what they were supposed to do. They did exactly what they're supposed to do, and she did not do what exactly she was supposed to do. And this ain't about beating up on black women. This ain't but none of that. I just want to call it for what it is, because we have to know this ain't about like the affair and all of that. Yeah, none of that should have mattered. But once it came out, now we got to do strategy. Now we have to get ahead of the story. Now we have to do good, effective crisis calm. Now we have to say, what's the bigger picture. It's a bigger picture for the case or about you, And this was about her and her ego in my opinion, and it hurts.
From a crisis calm perspective, says, at what point would you say would have been the best time for her to recuse herself as.
Soon as it immediately when the affair became public. Immediately, immediately, immediately, I'm recusing myself. I will not allow press conference. I will not allow this to be a public distraction. I will not allow and you can say all the things I did nothing wrong, nothing that I did was out of order. But what I will not do is allowed this to be a distraction from the real issue, which is holding former President Donald Trump accountable for its criminal acts and walking away from that still would have given her her Democrat nomination, if not more, it would have not given Republicans something to go again, because better ly, they're gonna be looping that looping net in commercials back to back to back, you know, in her when she got a run against a Republican. Now to your point, being a constituent, they might be pissed because you fumbled it. So now you might have lost some voters who were riding with you before. Also because she was found it's another part that we hadn't talked about in the last update with her. But because they did find a conflict of interests now we saw that other people are pushing other cases. Maybe I told you that was gonna happen. Now is going to open up a can of words. Everybody said, what about my case? What about now? Y'all need to look at my case. I think it might be a complic of interest there as well. So now other attorneys and other people have now filed most to say, you know what, let's go back and look at my case as well. And also, don't forget the state legislature. They are still pushing to have her come before the state body and explain herself, and she still got to fight for her law license and all of that. So the very moment you knew you was having an affair with that man, whether you thought it was right wrong, they should have did me like that. This is after getting me because I'm a black woman. All that that you said in the pulpit regards for to that you should have walked away. Somebody else there was more than qualified to continue what doing what needs to be done, and you got out the way it should have happened immediately.
And I'm not sure what the process is for that. So let's say, if she would have refused herself immediately, would she had been responsible for finding the next DA or the next attorney to take over the case or does that go through a different process.
Or would have been the judge so the judge can decide, you know, who they would appoint, you know, and so and maybe you know that was a concern a judge or and I have to look at this, don't hold my word. Typically could have been a judge, but it also could have been and I'm not familiar with Georgia laws. Sometimes a governor has to make that decision as well, so she might have been thinking, Okay, if the governor got to make that decision, then now we're talking about, you know, a Republican governor and Georgia making that decision a special prosecutor and we're not going to be successful with that. So they could have been in her thought process as well, So don't hold me to that. I want to look that up because I'm not familiar, but typically it could be a judge or like if she got removed from it, then use it. That's where a governor has to make a decision. So I'm not really sure, but either or I know, the decision wouldn't have solely been up to her because again, if you have a conflict of interest, then obviously you can't be making a decision on who needs to replace because that conflict venture still applies. So it would have been you know, somebody could have been a grand jurior. Like I don't really know because I got to look into Georgia law and see, and I don't want to be you know, I don't want to put misinformation out there. But when you think about the risks a risk analysis, what is the greater risks if if you know your case strong and the facts are there, and the facts are the facts, and you know that you've built a strong case, I'd rather take the chance of somebody else messing up the case rather it be me, me fumbling it based upon an affair. Right.
And the thing is is that, I mean, she should have never had him on the case in the first place. It right, I know, we both agree that it should have never gotten to this point. Absolutely, this argument is new. Like I know that I see a lot of black women out here trying to fight or act as if they have white women privilege, and it just doesn't work that way.
It doesn't work that way.
There's a such thing of its ethics and moves and things, nepotism and all that for a reason. And unfortunately, this really, in my opinion, has changed the trajectory of the twenty twenty four presidential election.
It does. And for those who believe Trump is the second Coming and that Jesus on his side, that I know they're saying, that's right, God got the big underself, just tell him what it is like. He just basically got away just last week, convicted on thirty four counts of felony, thirty four felon accounts, and this week got a chance to walk away from the actual case that actually, you know, was the strongest criminal because the things that we have left the election interference on the federal level, you know, with trying to determine if he conspired or enticed you know, the coup, that's a hard thing to prove when it come down to it, that's a hard thing to prove. They don't have a couple of things that he said in speeches, you know, that's a hard thing to prove. This Georgia case was the absolute closest thing to a real criminal conviction because again they have the tapes of him asking for twelve thousand more votes.
Yeah, demanded kind of demanded twelve thousand more votes.
Yeah. Yeah. So this is just I'm just telling you this, This is a sad day. It's straight up like in the legal profession of black lieve. I'm telling people, I'm pissed, Like, girl, you really kind of fumbled on this one, like.
You know, I was one black. They're looking for comments. I haven't seen much in Democrats or anybody saying anything, but of course, you know, the right, they're very very activated right now. But I was looking for some public statements. I was even expecting her to say something as now there has been no public statement issue from her or her office. And wow, just wild, wild, wow.
And let me see if they'll probably say it's a witch hunt and it's been a witch hunt, and that's fine, you know, but again, Trump attorney, they beat you on this one. We just got a call of for what it is. They won this round and that's that. So we'll continue to talk about it. We'll continue to follow, we will, you know, see where this is gonna go. And but bottom line is, man that debate girl Trump gonna bring this up as a debate. Let's will let's look in real time. Pardon me, listeners, We're looking in real time. I'm gonna look and see if Trump had said anything yet, because surely he's had to say something on Trump's Social.
Yeah truth social. Didn't see anything on Twitter, say, yeah, you go over there. I don't have an account. I don't have an account with youth Social.
Okay, yeah, I got it.
I got it.
I got one because I like to keep up with in real time exactly what was been saying. So an hour ago, he was talking about something that looks like an election year deploy. Okay, they're talking about them. I have not seen he has not made a comment, but I'm surprised because you know, Trump be on it quick, so I'm surprising quick.
But there's a lot of stuff going on right now to tests. I mean, although this is a major, major, major development with the Fannie Willis situation. Before this news broke, the big news of the day was, you know, Hunter Biden is now on his criminal trial, and this is the first time ever that a US president's child has been facing like a criminal. You know, I had a criminal trial, and so the jury was selected and there were testimonies from Hunter Biden's ex wife and ex girlfriend. Now one of them accused Hunter of smoking crack every five minutes and brandish line and doing all this crazy stuff. So that trial itself sounds real good and ghetto and ratchet, and so tune in. Here's some more of the debauchery later. But yeah, this is definitely a fast news week test.
Okay, well, we got to stay on top of that. But then on the Hunter, I've been kind of slipping. It's been so much going on, it's hard to keep up with everything. Guys. So, uh, well, we got to catch up on the Biden thing. I know Fox News has asked me to tap in on that, so I need to catch up on that to make sure I'm on the same page. Before we close, I want to give a shout out to my Revolt family. You know, it's so amazing, you know, and again, what Puff did was just absolutely unacceptable. Unacceptable is not even a word. I mean, I just literally don't have words. It was disgusting. We've talked about it at nauseum. But I do want to commend my Revolte family, who I've watched because it has been over six months now, Jake, because this started tapping with Tez released in November, and so I think this started I told the December somewhere around that. So we've been dealing with this for about six months behind the scenes, and I just want to commend the CEO, the Tavio Samuels, my partner Monique, who are responsible were putting Tez on ten. She's vice president of both Black News. But I've been working with them behind the scenes and watching their leadership for the last seven months of really trying to navigate this very very difficult crisis. What people don't understand is there's a lot of people that were indirectly affected by the actions of one man. People at Revolt had nothing to do with this. Everything that they worked hard to build, to get on board, to do all of the things you know, during their job doing their job, had nothing to do you know, Puff's actions, watching people being laid off, watching the many many, many many calls that we had because the tabio really did handle his business, were getting in, making sure he was doing one on ones with women, people that needed to be felt like they needed to be heard, resolving internal issues, you know, making sure because people needed to be heard, they needed to say what was going on, and not even talking about no sexual harassment at the company, just how they felt would working for a company that was connected to Puff. So a lot of behind the scenes work went into that. I was a part of a lot of those discussions and strategy that I you know, don't talk about, but I was a part of lot a lot of that. And so to see the end result on you know, what happened with Puff shares and who gets those shares, it absolutely deserves to go to the employees, not because they deserved it but because they earned it, and they earned whatever possibility the company has to survive, because it is truly truly on them. We had fought for years to get people to pay attention to Revolt, and people did not Jade. It just didn't. But since this scandal happened, everybody started talking about Revolt and it was in a negative way, And to me, that's never been fair to the actual employees who've been busting our ass to get people to know, Hey, a black network does exist. I'll say we don't have one, but it does exist. A black news channel does exist. These black things do exist, and we bust our ass to get that awareness and people just didn't pay attention. But then when this happened with Revolt, came all in the mix as they should, which is expected. But I do want to note that at least in that instance, a positive did come out of this very very very negative situation. And I don't want to say negative turned to a positive, because you can't turn what happened into anything positive, just to be clear, but I do want to note that they did the best that they could with the cars that they were dealt, and rather it going to another billionaire or somebody else that had the money. It went really to the folks that make that network actually work, and so hell of an opportunity for them. I look forward to continuing to partner with them see where the network is going. And I just wanted to, you know, kind of make a note of that, because you won't see it talked about. You know, they posted on the blog one time, but you won't see this story talked about ten thousand times over. So I just wanted to make sure that I use my platform shut out to Revolt, shout out to our both family who I've been working with for years, and again shout out to them for believing in me with Tez on ten And that was a very disappointing thing, you know, to really go through, because our community needs to talk about these issues, even the issues what's going on with Puff and we needed to talk. We need to talk about it in a real way, and I think the best place to do that is a black owned network, and Revolt truly is the last black owned network that at least covers news standing because The Grill, as you know, just had two news shows that were canceled and so now I guess it'd just be reruns Martin you know, twenty four seven or whatever. No disrespect to them, but I am disappointed in Byron Allen taking over Black News Channel that I was a contributor of and saying that he was going to continue that news division and then run that show for a year two shows at Vane, k Williams, Mark Lamont Hill. Whether you agree with them, like them or not, bottom line is they had two daily news shows and now those shows have been canceled, and so it's just been it's as you know, Jade, I've just been going through a lot the last couple of months with just where are we now with Black News and do we really want this or do we not? In YouTube, guys, I know y'all say I listen to such and such on YouTube, Well I got breaking news for you. YouTube has also reduced their payoffs in ninety percent, So those you might have been accustomed to to covering certain serious issues all the time, now you wonder why they cover a little bit of sports and a little bit of gossip and a little bit of everything else, because you simply just cannot survive in this business with just being smart all the time. And when I mean survived, I mean, it just don't pay the bills. That's just the bottom line. Guys. We have totally been rocked back to sleep. I fear that it's going to take something else to happen, either Donald Trump being elected again or another shocking world event. But we've been rocked back to sleep, and so we'll talk more about that as we continue on this podcast. And that's why, guys, I just can't stress enough subscribing to this podcast is very, very important. There's a lot I could do to just be popular, there really is. There's a lot I could just sit up and talk about drama all day every day and run after clicks too, But at the end of the day, it's not about clicks. It really is about change, and it really is about our community, and that's where my heart is at. So thank you so much, you know for joining us. Thank you again, Jay for your consistent support on all levels across the board. JD is absolutely the bomb dot com and I look forward to telling you more about things that she will be partnering with me on. And by the way, guys, I was just in a movie on Saturday. I was playing me though, so I was just playing myself being reported but it was a lot of fun. Shout out to Marcella's for joining me on the set. We had a lot of fun, a lot of laughs. I'm doing that because you'll hear me have a lot of conversation about black independent filmmaking. Make sure you listen to Tuesday's episode with Luke Steven. I'm partnering with him on my project that I will be releasing this year. I can't wait to tell you all about it, and so him and I are working together also on another project. Shout out to Jay for helping me with that. But I'm really trying to make sure that I'm understanding every aspect of it, and we'll talk more about that as we talk about what I'm getting ready to do in film. And it's important that you know every aspect of it, from what it means to be the talent to produce, to direct to camera. At least that's how I like to do things. When I work on campaigns, I can tell you I've worked everything on every level, because you really want to be able to understand same thing with media. I produce, I host, I direct, you know, I do the whole thing. So for me, it's always important to know every aspect. So no, I'm not trying to all of a sudden, you know, become some actress. But I am working with Black Film Partners because it's important that I'm understanding every piece of this that comes together and how these films come together and what makes it work, and so there's a lot that I'll be doing with that politically. I'm so excited about it, and I hope you guys just stay tapped in with me because there I have a plan. I absolutely have a plan, and I'm looking forward to it. So I'm looking forward to bring you guys on the journey. So thank you again, Thank you Jade for tapping in again. Shout out to Michelle. Congratulates on that Jay to be helping her with that campaign as well. Jay, just do everything y'all across the board, so make sure you follow her. She's always available for hire. I absolutely don't know anybody, and I mean that in my over twenty years that I've worked in this business, they can keep up with me. And Jada is absolutely d one and only that understands how to manage your time and do things well, not just well, but exceedingly above others. So shout out to Jay for that. So again, guys, make sure you subscribe to the podcast. We'll tap in with you on next week. Every Tuesday and Thursday, guys dropping an extra episode. I hope you enjoy it. I hope you're enjoying, you know, getting some fresh con every week and tightening up on our game in that area. So we needed to tighten up and needed to spend a little bit more time on my podcast, and I am doing that and I hope you guys appreciate it, and hope that you know we're going to continue to get go on this journey together.
