SpaceX Falls, CVS Drops, Kraft Heinz Rises on News of Selling Coffee Unit

On this episode of Stock Movers:

- SpaceX (SPCX) shares slide. Shares of Elon Musk’s Tesla Inc. and Space Exploration Technologies Corp. fell ahead of Wednesday’s US stock-market opening as Democrats swept to control of Congress. A so-called blue wave in the midterm elections will fan concerns about tighter regulations around artificial intelligence, and also creates more uncertainty over a potential merger of the electric vehicle maker and the rocket, AI and satellite giant.

- CVS (CVS) shares drop. CVS Health Corp. plans to spin off its retail pharmacy business into a new company called CVS Pharmacy in the first half of 2028. The move will separate the drugstore business from the Aetna insurance unit and Caremark prescription benefits division, with both companies to be publicly traded.

- Kraft Heinz (KHC) shares rise. Kraft Heinz Co. is divesting its North American coffee business to private equity firm One Rock Capital Partners, LLC at an enterprise value of $650 million. The company will keep a 30% non-controlling equity stake in the coffee unit and use the net cash proceeds to pay down debt. The divestment is part of Kraft Heinz's efforts to simplify and strengthen its portfolio, allowing it to concentrate its capital and management attention on brands with greater potential for growth.
