The company’s bottom end of comparable sales and sales guidance is below analysts estimates but the top line is ahead. Macy’s adjusted diluted earnings per share guidance is also below estimates.

- American Eagle (AEO) shares drop. The apparel firm’s second-quarter total comparable sales fell short of the average analyst estimate. Analysts note that strength at its aerie brand was more than offset by weakness at AE.
