- Coinbase (COIN) shares close up 12%. Cryptocurrency-linked stocks, including Coinbase are extended gains in Friday trading with Bitcoin passing the $80,000 level. The sector also got a boost on Thursday after the SEC greenlit digital versions of securities to start trading in the US.
- Volkswagen (VWAGY) lowered its operating margin forecast, reflecting a write-down on its stake in Porsche, a sharp contraction in the Chinese car market and costs related to its overhaul. The German manufacturer now expects a return of no more than 1%, it said Friday, down from a range of 4% to 5.5%. The shares fell as much as 7.5%.
