Lies. Promises. Fairy tales. The left’s sales pitch is simple: Government will give you everything—and somebody else will pay. Free healthcare. Free college. Guaranteed income. Tax relief for working families. They sell the dream and bury the bill.

That’s the biggest challenge Republicans face: The truth has to compete with a fantasy. Tell a young person struggling with rent that government can erase their financial worries, and you’ve got their attention. Explain what those promises cost, and suddenly you’re the bad guy. But calling something “free” doesn’t make the cost disappear.

Abdul El-Sayed. James Talarico. New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani. Today on Stinchfield, I’m taking on the politics of impossible promises—and asking the questions every voter deserves answered: Who pays? What happens when the money runs out? And how much control will government demand in return?

Communist regimes promised equality and delivered repression, shortages, and devastation. Republicans need to explain that history—and offer a convincing path to prosperity. Today, we expose the sales pitch, confront the fantasy, and explain why the promise of something for nothing can cost you everything.
