Everyone's favorite Bond girl and Wild Thing is on the pod to talk her very first movie, filming in front of a forest fire, who her favorite Baldwin brother is and many other topics. Note that this episode's recording time was cut short due to an off-camera incident with a dog. Don't worry, we get into that as well. Enjoy.
So I just want to listen to you read the next one. I don't read because you were rather infatuated with this this next guest, Denise Richards. Yeah. I think you got a little nervous when Denise. Yeah, Denise makes me a little nervous too, just because she's so intel.
You was like my number one for so long.
So go ahead and read Welcome to One. I'm going to read it.
Do you want me to riff it? I want you to read it because I just want to react to it. Okay, I don't read these things.
I riff them.
All right.
All right, everybody, welcome back to One Bad Movie. This is Steve and I'm Jared.
Today we have a great episode, one that was a milestone for me in my life, which was.
Denise Richards. The Denise Richard.
Denise Richard Richards.
We had the pleasure of speech.
That's not what you wrote here though, Now I wrote the incredible Denise. She's gonna don't mess it up now, the incredible Denise, known for iconic.
Roles in Wild Things, Starship Troopers, The World is not Enough. She was a bond girl. She was the Bond girl.
Are you saying that Denise Richards was the best Bond girl ever.
I have no problem going on record as saying Denise.
Richards, Wow, it's gonna be a episode girl throwing down, a Bond girl gauntlet thrown down. I like it. Denise has had a diverse career spanning from television reality TV, and we touched on some of her most memorable moments.
Yes, that was not written by AI at all. But before we had dove into all that, Denise went above and beyond to help Steven because in this episode we had a little off set incident with where we were taping.
Do you remember That's right?
I got bit by a dog, by a dog right before the interview.
Yes, and normally the dog is very nice, but we had your dogs there.
It was a freak accident.
You were doing the right thing, very innocent, yes, but it was as I came out hoping to get you ready and I see blood everywhere and you're holding You're like I, I have to just take care of this, and I'm like Helle, going go on, Denise Richards is here, there's blood everywhere, our pets heads are falling off, all right, without further ado, this is Denise Richards one bad movie.
Breaking those bad lips. It's so bad.
It's good.
Damns this sun, it's so bad.
It's good. One bad.
Personality to it. It's very much like you. It's fun. I love it. Wait, can I I want to mark something on your arm? Do you have a pen? I'm gonna mark something on your arm? Yeah, because because as vaccinated that you don't get an infection. And that's not true. And I've had this happen, so I I know firsthand. Okay, so here we.
Are acting exercises myself here.
Let's bring your mic in.
Holy cow, look at that. Thank you, Jenny Richards.
You're welcome.
You're the best ever. Oh look, and I gotta do this, Jared. Whenever I was in the movie business in Hollywood and I wanted to do this, you had to be, you know, kind of a big start to do whatever.
I know, they wouldn't let us, you know what I mean.
I just figured start my own dang podcast and I can do what I want. Just kidding. What does it say on here? The only thing that's changed is name d Richards. That's hot.
I took a photo of it.
That's hot.
Thank you.
Hey y'all. Steve Baldwin here with the d Richards. Let's do this. Denise Richards. Oh my dang, I can't believe you're here. Need one bad movie? I have to ask, right, Jared producer Jared do I have to say, Hey, everybody, welcome to one bad Movie. And Denise Richards, what's your one bad movie? You told me just one when this whole thing started, I'm like, I quickly through my filmography, I'm like, oh, you know, it's probably seven or eight or nine or ten max ten? Right, it was like more than twenty bad movies in my own filmography. So but precisely when I talked to you and invited you to come to one bad Movie, you you instantly blurted out the first movie I ever did. Yeah, please tell me about that.
This and this is no disrespect to the people involved the.
Movie because I had as similar.
Right in there. Is that better?
Even he wants to get the audio is important?
Yeah? Yeah, I hope. So it's a podcast, right? Is that good?
That's great?
Okay, Okay, So when you first told me about this, Lucy Steven is.
Aaron Like, is he really big and strong? He is a big, strong guy. I don't stand a cham in the future, even being like a first cousin. Nothing right, nothing, no, go ahead, you were saying your first movie.
No, that came to mind was Tammy and the t Rex. And like I said, it's no disrespect to the director or the writer or anything. It was just such a crazy experience. And it was my first movie feature film. Yeah, And what was it about? So my boyfriend's brain went into a dinosaur. So my boyfriend became a dinosaur. So I'll never forget too. It was the first time I think I had to cry on camera, right, And I was so nervous because I had to be crying to the and like touching and cressing the head of the dinosaur as I'm not joking as.
If because it was your boyfrien.
And I was just like devastated and you know, crying and that It's just I was like, oh my gosh, I look like an asked.
And then did you do that to like some toy or because I did the Flintstones, right, I played Barney Rubble in the flint Stone, So like on the set I had to like act to like weird stuff, right, was that the same?
Well for that scene, I had just like kind of the head of it, you know, we didn't have a real dinosaur on set, so it was And then at one point I had to ride on the back of the dinosaur.
No, was it like a bronto? What do you call that, John? What is it like?
Oh? Yeah, t rec So you.
Got it there. Oh, let's roll the clip. We want to look at a clip.
Do you know I've never seen this?
Do you not want it?
Oh? I don't care.
Because you also said the special effects were rather questionable.
Well, yes, and because I when I'm riding on the dinosaur and there's like this glow in the background, there's actually a horrible fire in Calabasas. And we were on Mulholland, Calabasas, and I'm like you and everyone's being evacuated and stuff, and I'm on the back of this damn thing and it's on wheels and shit, and you're filming and we're filming, and it's my first movie, And I said, do you think maybe we should get out of here? Like this fire looks like it's coming close.
I mean, I know you guys are on a budget mistair.
But and I know it's probably our last day of filming, but you don't care if something goes sideways with me because then we're wrapped, you know what I mean? You know how you're always wait till the last day to do some of the stunts and certain things. So it's a insurance thing. What's the title of that, guys, Tammy and the t Rex? Ok?
Can I see some of it? Is that you?
Yeah?
How old are you? Hun? See?
I'm crying to this guy? Oh, I guess it was all a big guy. I thought it was just his head.
I was in the special effects. It was just it was the whole thing.
I was twenty two.
You're a little spring chicken.
That was twenty two years old.
You look way younger than twenty two in this She's like you're sixteen, for God's sakes.
So that was all in Calabasas. Look at that's me riding it. And see the fire, the smoke.
That's very well. Show that again? Is that the real fire they.
Used in the background? No, the fire was for real and we were filming and yeah, and I said we should probably get out of here. Everyone's getting evacuated here, and they wanted to get the shot.
And so, I mean, really sadly, the joke there is like, hey, guys like fire and stuff apparently may have gotten caused the extension of these guys in the first place. Let's not do it again.
It's true, you get to hire.
Yeah. Oh wow, Paul Walker.
He played my boyfriend.
I know, very sweet. But it's Tammy and the t Rex and you were Tammy.
I was Tammy, so I had and that's your one. Yeah.
Look cute, Look your honey. You look like some little dancer, like a ballerina, for gosh sakes. Gorgeous.
I know. Look how young we you look very sweet.
Tammy and the t Rex.
Okay, so yeah, that was the first movie that came to mind when you think about this a favor.
Can we pull up that clip from Harpies again, just for me when I I hate to harp on. Harpy's get it, John, we get it. So let me just show you a clip from one of my bad movies, okay, where I play a guy who teleports like into another dimension of time and when I arrived there, I have to kind of figure out, you know, what's happened.
So you did this in two thousand and seven.
I have no idea when I have no recollection of ever doing this. Watch the special effects these demon angel chicks that I have to fight against because Denise's face right now, I've got Denise.
Okay, I think I have you beat me on a plastic dinosaur and it's my boyfriend.
I don't know, And I think these demonic angel gals have your dinosaur?
Where'd you film this Bulgaria?
And it's based on a stan Lee thing? That's out of control?
That's crazy, that was awful. It's not actually just bad movies. It is not as bad.
I love you director, I love you writer. God bless you. Investors, get your money.
We all have them, and more than one some of them.
I've made a few of those. See. The difference is you're kind of more innocent in this, in this dynamic, because your bad movies are maybe earlier on when you could have made bad choices because you didn't have enough experiences. Mine are much later when I just did it for the money. See, it's just there's no apology there. Just you know we're going to Bulgaria and you're gonna slay heart bees. I was like, how many days? Thirteen? I think I could last thirteen days slaying hoppies, don't you.
I mean, it's just you know, you have we have to do what we have to do. And sometimes you never know if something is going to be bad or good, and sometimes a movie can turn out really.
Great, and sometimes a bad movie can be uh utilized for the best conversation.
This is right exactly.
But we did a movie that hasn't come out yet.
When is that coming out?
What's it called?
I don't even know.
This is that Daniel Baldwin directed, his.
Brother directed it, and his other brother going out.
It's called a Walking Miracle, A walking miracle, and it's a I tell you.
Well, there were some people in that involved in that. That was very interesting.
Yeah, let's wait a few years before we talk about that one.
So there we were.
Where did we shoot Atlanta?
So there we were not too long ago in Atlanta? You and I Yeah, and.
And your brother played my husband.
William, my brother William. So you had a bunch of Baldwins in the in the arena here, Yeah, And then I was in the film. So I was like kind of your single available Baldwin you were. I don't know why. I just said that. That was How dumb was that? Lucy? Wasn't that just like a silly attempt at fodder?
He played a priest though, pastor pastor.
That's right, I played a pastor.
Yeah you did.
Oh he was married, so yeah, no, he had no interest in you whatsoever. I forgot, I forgot my character. Sorry, So point being, you know Billy, you know Danny, you know, you know, we've all seen each other over the decades. I was so excited to like hang out and work with you and say hi, because they've never said here on.
My favorite Baldwin, you may have to cut this out so that your brother.
No way of the baby. You were here here first.
You made me laugh so much on set, and especially some of these scenes were very emotional because I'm crying because my son's in the hospital and we think it was you know, not make it or whatever. Well we can't give away whatever AnyWho. So but for you to keep things so light on set was so great. Thank you, you know, to lighten it. And because it was such have.
You was playing the pastor, I had to stay positive. You keep it ahead, keep it sassy. It was Can I just go to confessional now? Since we're talking about priests and pastors? So here I am playing a pastor in a movie with Denise Richards. She's the mom of like, you know, I'm a pastor, and I'm sitting there going, oh, yeah, how's your husband? Say to Hill Mayors and call me in the morning. You know, I'll explain John. So I'm a fan of yours.
Thank you.
And this movie I'm talking about was so sweet to finally get to see you in the flash and say hi and spend time and make you laugh. And we had so much fun.
We had so much fun.
And then a very strange thing happened. Do you remember what I'm talking about?
Which thing?
You don't remember?
Which street? Which one?
The really weird one was the about the teamster. The teamster and I thought you were dating a teamster? Remember, oh yeah, remember Yeah. So I get to the set and there's Denise Richards. I'm like, oh wow, And I don't know stuff. I don't look stuff up, I don't read anything. I'm in a hole. So I go off the reservation and I come to this movie and I'm like, oh, there's you know, Denise's. But I don't know her personal life. I don't know. I have no idea you're married. I have no idea nothing. I just think you're Denise. You probably have like a friend or you're a boyfriend. It's you keep it private.
Way you have to. So you were at a cafe.
Hold on, so I don't know your status. So dude, I like, go to this breakfast place. It's like a Denny's or nearby the hotel or the breakfast some breakfast place. I go, like I do my whole creepy you know, I don't want to see anyone thing. And I get a booth, I sit down. I literally, dude, I'm like, got the manu. I'm like this bro right, Oh my god, it's Denise's here, dude, Oh my god. What So listen, I'm freaking wigging because I feel like, is this your favorite place? And you know, have I violated like your private space? Lo and behold this dude, and like a champion chip sweater like the old school no hoodie baseball hat. I have any in I'm only five, 't ten? This guy had a twenty two inch nek from fifty yards away. Okay. She's sitting in a booth, sitting with this guy, and she's being Denise. Pass that out, thank you, you know, being Denise right, And there's this like brawler with her who looks from the back like maybe he's one of the crew members on the film, Like he just looks like a big teamster, like dude. So I'm like, oh my god, I know who Denise is with, and no one on the movie knows who her boyfriend is. Now I gotta get out of here, right, I'm freaking out, you know, because it's you and you keep your life private. Oh my god, I have to gutch my breath. So all of a sudden, I eat my eggs. You know, I sneak out the back. You never you never see me, You.
Never see I never saw.
So then on the set, I wait a couple of days, I like stalk her from like afar, like, where's the teamster? Who's the teamster? Right? I can't figure out. So finally, finally, after several more days, I sit here and I'm like talking to you, and I go, hey, man, you know, like you know, where's your husband. You're like, oh, you know he's around, And I'm like, oh, your your husband's here, and she's like, yeah, my husband's here. Yeah, he's with me and he helps me, helps me to get stuff done into I'm like, oh, because.
Did you have the other day place you're not correctly.
She's kind of a team street looking burly.
Kind of demon. You left out something?
What what?
You took photos of me while I was at breakfast and you showed them to me, and you're like, well, who is this right? I'm like, what the We're at that table and you took photos.
Because I was worried. I was really worried. And what if what if it was? What if I was What if I was right? What if you were single and sweet and some teams and like.
I was married? He thought I was having an affair with the teams?
Yes, I thought that. I thought I thought the teamster was like some squeeze you had in at l And then you said, no, I'm married, And then I didn't know what to think. And then you explained to me that you're squeezing at honey, let me land the plane here. The perfect thing I'm saying here now is just like.
The legendary hot smoking.
Now at this phase of her life and career, she's got like the little husband, sexy teamster looking guy. You know, he's probably paint your toenails and feeds your grapes. I'm sure, I'm sure. So God bless you for the smoking hot husband Hi, Aaron. How are you Aaron? Big fan? Bro? I'm such a big fan of yours. Can I start the Aaron Teamster fan club? I should do that.
It was very funny though, when I learned he I stalked you.
I had you.
Yeah, it was fun to make sure you were okay. I know, but thank you. But you could have at least so high at the restaurant.
Yes, no, what if it was a teamster? So what I like snapped my neck like a toothpick yo. But I was like, look how hot homegirl is with the little beefcake. And I thought it was just a sidekick, and you've made it a permanent thing, if you know what I'm saying.
He flew out to visit me in Atlanta?
And is he just a doll?
He's the best guy ever. I feel he's cute. He's very cute.
Well you know my wife Keina Ice, Honey, I celebrate thirty four years of marriage this year.
Four years. Oh thank you for Are you hot too?
After that story?
Yeah?
That was wait what did you say that story?
Yeah?
Getting nervous here not not where I thought the story was going. Oh yeah, I thought it was select just like getting starstruck too.
It was it's not funny that he took photos of me.
I know, over my menu, like that he was seriously, what was.
Scary was I didn't freaking know that you did. I was like, that's scary that this strange guy in the restaurant is taking photos of me.
I really paparazzi, dude, you did. But I had to listen. It was kind of a hybrid paps TMZ kind of thing because I had to just make sure you were okay. What if the guy you know?
No, it's good that you were watching out for him, but you could see that we were.
Because the three of the Baldwin brothers in one town are going to take care of any freaking teams, Darling. Let me tell you, right, ma'am, we ain't scared all three.
There was three bald Ones at once.
M gummer. Okay, can I just talk about anything?
You could? It's your show.
You.
I like that you could talk about whatever you want.
So you were going to ask some other folks.
Oh wait, can I say something really quick?
Anything? Please?
Oh?
My daughter got the Hailey nails the other day.
Oh I haven't seen them.
So I guess your daughter has this donut glaze nails that all these girls are getting. I'm sure you've heard that right. Yes, isn't that cute that it's the Hailey Bieber nail.
Then she's got a smoothie.
She has a smoothie.
She has a smoothiet erewhon isn't that funny?
My daughter had this smoothie too, she did the Hailey smoothie. Yeah, it's like five hundred dollars for this mooie.
I've only had three and it's been out for about two years. That'll tell you what the price point is.
So she has so smoothie and she has her nails.
She has Sundays. Really your one has Sundays? Now, that's so. That's so little gal Haleybabes. She's a chip off the old block, if you what I'm saying. She's a smarty pants. But I think it's her and her husband are very smart little business people and apparently they got some talent.
Apparently a little talent.
So you know, the road thing she's doing is great, the little cosmetics, the creams and all that. Now is the nails part of the road or is the nails?
No? No, she just it's origin made. They actually I hope she's getting paid for this because everyone's going to the salon to get her nail color. It's a donut glaze color.
So it's a color.
It's a color. Yeah, I don't think it's.
It's press on.
No, No, it's a color, and so I should know. But it's a very popular color, and she always it's like the new color, and so have you tried it? I haven't. I just saw her.
Daughter loves it.
She loves it. She just got her nails done two days ago. Lola, Wow, so is this your daughter's makeup line? This is Road Cosmetics. She's than she the case all the way to left. Yeah, so that's a case a company went and designed just to hold her her lipstick. That's incredible. Good for her.
She's jamming.
She's a little entrepreneur. That's so great.
She's very blessed and very talented the Road.
Okay, that lip glass looks really nice.
So I have another crowd.
Okay, sorry, I didn't mean to.
No, you're fabulous, ask me anything.
So sorry, what's your question?
You were going to like talk to some people about one bad movie? Yes, so can I You're going to talk to your Yeah, can we.
Talk about can we talk about your ex husband? You can ask me anything you want because I know.
Him a little bit. I I visited his house once in.
A yeah, I asked. I told him about this, and he's doing his like a documentary on his life, and this is really yeah, if you want to, I'm sure they would love.
I don't do on this show anymore. I just want to be in his documentary.
But I said to him, why don't you do it? And he's like, oh, I got to wait and see if until that comes down. But whatever, I don't think I think he's he should just do it anyway.
So let me give you the kind of weird psychology backstory about Charlie. So here's the Baldwin brothers. Right when the Baldwin Brothers came to Hollywood, there was the Sheen.
Brothers right right fession.
And then we all hung out and exactly we all hung out and kind of bumped into each other and worked and who's cool and who's not cool? And Alec you know, kind of took off, you know, with his career, and we followed a little bit, you know, but not to the same success necessarily as Alec. Alec has been in bigger films and you know, award this and that, and you know that's pretty cute. But Charlie was somebody that was always because of his crowd, people like the group and his just he was West Coast Sean Penn, you know, like cruise all because in the younger days were hanging out. So when uh, what's the Vietnam picture? He did Platoon? Platoon? So when he did Platoon, Oh okay, Uh, I was younger, and you know, coming up as an actor, you know, you you gravitate and and towards an admirer who you kind of don't know. I'm sure the actresses who you liked when you were younger, and then you like these other ones older, right, You're you're kind of your snapshot of all that changes. So I never hung out with Charlie. I seen him around a couple of events. We did the Planet Hollywood stuff, which was very into interplanetary and quite Hollywood. Anyway, I'm just gonna leave it right there. I'll just put it this way. Thank you Sylvester Stallone for whispering in my ear one time at a Planet Hollywood event so that I wouldn't take the wrong kung fu lessons. If you know what I'm saying subliminately, A lot of people are going to get that anyway. I'll tell you after the show. I can't say it now. Somebody tried to like get me to join them and their wife in a party and I didn't know it. Like I was talking to this person. I was talking to a person at a big event, and when I'm talking, I'm so young. I'm going, gee whiz. And this guy comes up and goes, so, that's just alone, would like to speak with you. And I go now and they're like yeah, and I go I'll be right back, and I go over and I so say how to Sly And I'm like, hey, hey man, you know he's he was with Schwarzenegger and Me Moore and Bruce Willis. You know, I was invited. So I just went up to him and he said everything's going all right. I'm like, yeah, good, yeah, yeah, it'd be good. The brother's good, it would be good. Yeah. And then I want to see the name, but that he goes, yeah, that person you're talking to, just watch that person, yes, just be careful. Like now, I'm not like I'm from Massadingo. I'm like, what do you mean, be careful, But I didn't understand what context, so I go, well, what do you mean, because that's the way I might just go, what do you mean like cocaine? Like what are you talking about? And he goes, no, that guy wants to watch you bang his wife, so he does it all the time, So.
Just be careful.
Is this guy Charlie, No, Charlie doesn't know kung fu?
And would Charlie you.
Imagine that? What's up?
Oh no? Because I brought like that was kind of environment, and so I was.
In right face and I saw like you like if you're saying, when I would come to Hollywood young and you'd be like, somebody be like, oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, this is party over there, man, and who's gonna be there?
Yeah?
Shut up? And Charlie she you mean you'd be like, oh, that'skind of party where Charlie, she's gone, you know what I mean? Or whatever, And then i'd see him and he's you know, Charlie, Charlie, yeah, hey, yeah, what's your navy again? Yeah? Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, you know, and then you leave You're like, oh my god. I saw Charlie Shane, so I fan girled him a lot, right, And then the last time I saw him, I was someplace like at a dinner at someone's house and they go, hey, man, I want to go see the the gun collection at Charlie Sheen's house. And I'm like, the gun collection of Charlie. Yeah, Charlie has a weapons company that he has a big weapons collection that he rents back to the movie business. I said, oh, gosh, that's amazing. Chee gosh, golly. I never sure. So we go to get a car. We go to Charlie's house in mal but beauty like the house. Yeah, And you go in the basement and there's a vault. There's like a.
This is like the greatest Charlie Sheen fantasy. A little boy from Messa Peakiever. This freaking vault door opens, dude, and it's guns.
Every dude there had to be Johnny Listen. He had four fifty caliber Dashkas, the anti aircraft that goes on the top of a tank, four of them. He had twenty of the same shotgun, like a frush of Usberg.
Oh. I mean, it's up to you guys.
You know, we can edit. It's just a fun story. But I'm just I'm just I'm gonna change the subject. I'm just making the point that the mystique of Charlie for me was always very cute. And then the one time I ever got to hang out with them, it was like the ultimate hangout with Charlie at his house and see all has gone. It was amazing.
Yeah, I know he had a quite set up over there.
Yeah, but like the company of the weapons to the movie business was way more significant than I realized.
And they weren't for the movies. Sorry, they were not for the movies.
How come I had to sign a book? They were for something else. Later. I think I get it now, I think I get it now. You just answered a very important question because in the log book there was.
A shirt log book.
There was a log book.
I'll tell you later, Okay, there was a shooting range there, right, Yeah, And.
Then I told you Charlie took out a Heckler and cash MP five with a silencer on it and went on the balcony and went into the freaking ravine. But you only heard the clacking of the day. Didn't make it any noise. I know you've probably shot all the guns, you little fart.
No, I didn't, actually, so.
Back to Tammy and the t Rex. Yeah, back to Tammy the t Rex. But I just asked that because I'm just saying all that because it's it was fun to have never met him and hung out and then have that one experience.
I get it.
You know what do you haven't gotten to the dog bite story?
So okay, okay.
So when I came in, I saw that your your finger.
I was injured.
Yes, you were injured.
I had a jiu jitsu event with an aikita, which is not fun, not before interviewing Denise. So this is what I said to you earlier. First, well, thank you.
For being here, thank you for having.
You have blessed one bad movie.
I feel very blessed.
I love it. And the reason I know this show is already in the spiritual realm like Super Awesome, is because crazy it is going on all around it. Well, we're trying to make it.
That's that's that's sometimes the best stuff.
It's like resistance in the matrix, you know what I mean. So here, I am forty eight minutes away from interviewing Denise Richards, and my little dog gets in a little dog fight with the neighbor's dog, and I get bit on my finger, and uh, it's pretty bad.
It's not good to have a dog bite because people think it and actually, let me see the where you're mark. I just want to check.
Look, Denise, please help me, help me out. Is it okay? Well, okay, okay.
I have a question for you to kind of bring it back to Denise here to tie into the dog bite. Is there any story from on set where like there was this big disaster and like it kind of impeded the day, but then it turned out the movie or the scene whatever you were working on, like turned out amazingly despite I mean.
There's always been I think stuff that you know, sometimes you get delayed or something happens.
I think with the exception of just like how fast we were shooting oh.
On that well that movie. My last day, the guy the monkey investor lent us all cars and I didn't even want the car because I was worried about the liability and it was a Ferrari right, And my last day in front of the hotel, someone hit.
It, right, I remember this.
