1.    The state government will introduce legislation today that will allow police to stop and search someone for knives using metal-detecting wands at shopping centres, licensed premises, sporting and entertainment venues, and high-risk retail outlets.
2.    The Olympic Games are coming to Brisbane eight years early, with Dean Boxall transforming the suburb of Indooroopilly to prepare Australia’s swimmers to conquer Paris. 
3.    Good news Broncos fans! Ezra Mam and Selwyn Cobbo are set to return to the field after missing round eight due to injury. 
4.    King Charles has made his first public-facing engagement since his cancer diagnosis in February.
5.    Police have intercepted one of Queensland’s largest cocaine imports, seizing more than $160 million worth of the illicit substance.
