NFL Picks: NYJ @ CLE -6.5
Former Steelers QB Kordell Stewart joined the show. Kordell recapped the Steelers win over Cincinnati on Sunday. Kordell said Mitch Trubisky did an adequate job and should stay the starter. He’s OK with the offense right now and said with the loss of TJ Watt it’s hard to have the mindset of slinging the ball around carelessly on offense. Kordell talked about how the Steelers offense has evolved over time. He said you don’t want to set yourself up for failure making the QB move when he doesn’t have to make plays with his feet. Kordell wants to see the offense stay the same way for now, saying coaching an ugly win is easier than coaching a pretty loss. Kordell said patience is important with Trubisky as the season goes on and we’ll see better football. Kordell talked about memories playing against the Patriots and credits the better team for winning the AFC Championship in 2001, however, he mentioned that every single time he made a check/audible in that game, the Patriots always knew what was going to happen.
Another podcast episode resulted in Ben Roethlisberger giving his thoughts on Mitch Trubisky and the Steelers win over the Bengals.
