Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk joined the show. Mike said NFL GM’s would choose Mike Tomlin over Sean Payton in fear that Payton would want too much control. Chris asked Mike what happens with Lamar Jackson and the Ravens, who may sit out the playoff game against the Bengals as he hopes to get a deal like Deshaun Watson got from the Browns. Mike thinks it’s smarter for the Steelers to keep Matt Canada around because of the development of Kenny Pickett. Mike thinks Tomlin is an incredible coach definitely deserves credit for the Steelers finishing 9-8, but he’s not at the point where he will “kick in” the front door on playoff teams anymore. Mike gave an update on the possibility of Pittsburgh hosting the AFC Championship Game as a neutral site. Mike thinks the league is interested in how the neutral site experiment goes and if it impacts the future.
