The elite national secondary schools hockey tournament, the Rankin Cup, was held in Wellington last week.
Bay of Plenty school Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Ruamata made history as the first Māori immersion school ever to feature at Rankin Cup.
Incredibly, the school has a roll of just 200 and just 36 high-school aged boys to choose from for the team- and in their first match they beat last year's finalists St Andrews College.
Piney catches up with their head coach, Tenga Rangitauira, to talk about their incredible achievement.
