19-year-old Ryan Satterthwaite has died after he and some friends tried to recreate the controversial 'Run It Straight' sport in a park in Palmerston North.

His death has led to concerns that the sport is too dangerous to allow.

Patria Hume is a professor of Human Performance at AUT, she spoke to D'Arcy Waldegrave on Sportstalk about why the collisions in this sport are so dangerous.

The White Ferns have slumped to 1-1 in their T20 series against South Africa as they lost by 18 runs at Seddon Park in Hamilton this evening.

South Africa posted 177/5 and the Ferns got off to a strong start sitting at 63/2 after the powerplay.

However, regular wickets stifled their momentum and they were eventually bowled out for 159 in the final over.

The beginning of the 2026 F1 season has been shrouded in controversy following the change in engine makeup.

Last season it was an 80/20 split between combustion engine and battery, this year it has been changed to a 50/50 split.

There have been several instances of cars having issues and, in some instances, not being able to get on the track.

David Dicker is the owner of Rodin Motorsport, and he joined D'Arcy to share his thoughts.
