It was announced this morning that the CEO of Netball New Zealand Jennie Wyllie had resigned from the role effective immediately.

It has been a turbulent year for the organisation, from the troubles with a broadcast deal to the recent Dame Noeline Taurua coaching situation. 

Gary Dawson, the team relationship manager for the Waikato Magic, joined D'Arcy to share his thoughts.

Drama and a technical issue in the Ashes yesterday, with Alex Carey scoring a welcomed century as Australia ended the day at 326-8, but he should've been out when he was on 72.

England used a review on a caught behind as they thought they heard a sound - the microphones on the stumps showed a clear noise but was shown on the replay as happening before the ball passed the bat resulting in a not out call.

Afterwards, Carey admitted that he had hit the ball and the company that owns Snicko concluded that the operator at the time must have chosen the incorrect stump mic for audio processing.

A huge day for the Black Caps as they opted to bat first in the third and final cricket test match against the West Indies at the Bay Oval today.

Tom Latham and Devon Conway put on an absolute clinic registering the second highest opening wicket partnership in Black Caps history at 323 - before Latham was dismissed. 

Conway and night watchman Jacob Duffy saw out the day with New Zealand in control at 334-1.

Newstalk ZB sport news reader Andrew Alderson was at the oval, and he joined D'Arcy to give a day one update.

The opening event drew several of New Zealand's most decorated motorsport figures.
