A blow for hosts Wellington ahead of their inaugural A-League football derby against Auckland.

Phoenix skipper Alex Rufer has been ruled out with a knee injury but they are boosted by the availability of new signings Paulo Retre and Marco Rojas, who missed the opening two rounds.
