On Sports Fix with D'Arcy Waldegrave for 7 July 2026, it was officially announced today that the Wellington Rugby Union will be cancelling all the club rugby fixtures this weekend after the Wellington Rugby Referees Association came out yesterday stating they would not be officiating any matches. They have done this to take a stand against the abuse they have been receiving from both the sidelines and players on the park.
