Then Deebo Samuel joins us to talk about his breakout season, his shoe collection, and Kobe vs. Lebron. Then Erica brings in a VERY special guest to surprise Colleen (hint: their name rhymes with Matt PacAfee). To close out the show, we celebrate a very special Split End of the Week with a gift for Erica.

It's time for this week's episode of the Split Ends Podcast. What is of splitches? That's right, everybody, that's a huge show. We are on Radio Row in Los Angeles. It's Super Bowl week. The stars are out, we're seeing them walk by. We're actually talking to some of them as well. I'm your host, Colleen Wolf. I got Erica tamp posting next to me. I got Producer Aaron with some of the best hair I've ever seen in my life. Let me just tell you, guys, if you don't know about Producer Aaron's Harriet, you need to dial in because this week was the first time that I ever met Aaron in person and I was blown away, quite frankly by his hair and the height of it. And it's great. That's your Well, this is the Split Ends Podcast, you guys. So that's why you tune in every single week for the hair talk and these salawns in l a that Colleen and I like to check out. But yes we did actually you know all meet in person for the first time, which we'll talk about probably at the end of the show. But this is a perfect time to go check out our socials because we have at Split Ends Pod where you can see Aaron's hair and Colleen's hair and I shaved my head, so you should go check it out on our Instagram. It's really something else. It's a look. And I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about you shake in your head, but you look you have such a beautiful face that you can handle having no hair. You know, sometimes it's it doesn't look great on everybody, but you are rocking it and rocket with styles, so that's awesome. A lot of hair talk coming up. Guess what else is coming up? We have some awesome guests. We are talking to not one, but two wide receivers. What one is actually a wide back. We got Deebo Samuel. We're gonna talk to him. And also, I'm so excited to talk to Robert Woods. He's obviously not playing in the game on Sunday, but we are going to get all of the inside gossip from him, all of the scoops on this team ahead of the game. I also might have a friend stop by for the show, Colleen, and a little surprise for you. I'm not going to tell you who that is, so you have no way to prepare. That's fine, I guess you know. Let me just tell you guys about this setup that my heart has here at Radio Row. It is beautiful. It's gorgeous. I like it better than my house. Maybe there's really comfy couches, there's a nice area rug. I like the whole vibe that's going on here. So it's a great little spot to have our our show. Erica absolutely super excited to be here. And actually, Colleen, they didn't give me a hotel room like they did you. So this couch right here is actually where I've been staying this past week on Radio Row. That's yeah, yeah, yeah, no that was from someone else. Is that spider that you've been sleeping with also here? Yeah? I don't know where that thing is. So during the A ten recording earlier today, a massive like Harry Tarantula looking things called up on Greg's neck and I lost my from the Around the NFL podcast. Guest of this program as well. Yeah, friend of the show, friend of the show. We love him. We also love our headlines. We do. Colleen, are you all caught up? You know for this week? Because you you're on so many shows, you're doing so many interviews. It's been such a busy week and if I could have one wish. It would just be for someone to catch me up on all the odds and ends around the NFL. Do you know where I could find that? Is there anything? As a matter of fact, I do, Colleen. You know I've got you covered for this week. I can't wait. Let's go all right, Colleen? Did you know that Kyler Murray deleted all Cardinals content from his Instagram besides a picture of him and Mike Evans from the Pro Bowl. Evans reshared the photo to his Instagram with the caption always wanted to catch a path us from a Texans legend and Bucks fans are going wild Kyler to Tampa. Whoa. This is almost like a weird Josh Rosen plan that he's on right now, except he's not going to Miami. In between Miami. But I, for I think it's a really interesting strategy that players are doing. When they just all of a sudden scrub their Instagram or something. It's like a secret coded message that we all can see, so it's not so secret, and I'm feeling it. I don't know what happened in Arizona. I guess it's pretty hot because it's making us all think and talk about this. Um. Who knows what's going to happen, But I will be following his Instagram NonStop. That's awesome erin you, and I will find out that Colleen no longer wants to do the show when she stopped starts on following the splint En pod on Instagram. So we'll track that Jarvis Landrum following it. I probably not. Jervis Landry surprised O b J during his media night presser and said, I love you, bro, go get that ring. Guess there's no bad blood for O b J leaving the Browns mid season. I'll always tell you this, Bro. But besides pubs, like, there's no man whoever came into my life and its head effect and impact that you have had to make me a better person, player and man uh soon to be father, brother, lover like you. You've shown me the light dog and I love you so much, bro, and this moment is for us, bro, like this is everything we ever talked about dogs. So I appreciate you coming on here, but you know it's them love. Do you guys have like a paper towel or something around here, because my heart just melted that one. I love those two their friendship is so pure, and watching them together in Cleveland. Sure, on the field the results weren't there, but watching them interact together and just knowing that they have this long standing friendship and being able to be on the team the same team together that always really warmed my heart. But seeing him now just like thrive in l A. I need to talk to Robert Woods about Odell. We're gonna talk to him about that coming up. That's super hot, super hot guys that can talk about their friendship and their feelings and their emotions and their love for each other unbelievably Definitely, Yeah, Colleen, I wouldn't be the lover I am without you either, So I just want to let you and you're welcome. Eagles safety Anthony Harris took a young fan to her daddy daughter dance after her father had recently passed away. What isn't that Adorable's sad but cute? I didn't know I was going to cry today, Erica. It's so sweet, it's it's hot, it's sweet, it's earning it. I love that it's not so sweet love seeing the social media of that too. Okay, calling now that Tom Brady retired when asked which quarterback he'd want to play with, Gronk said, Joe Burrowman in the pocket, He's just so calm and he just slings it out on the field. I just love his swag too. He loves his swag. Who doesn't love his swag. This just goes to show you that you have like an ounce of swag or personality. The media will be all over you. Everyone will love you. All you need to do is just like give us a little bit, a little something, and we will run with it forever. So good job, Joe Burrow. Cool so. In a new Super Bowl commercial, Pete Davidson is tackled by Gerard Mayo and hard. Pete while on the ground, says, I get it. I'm very hittable. Hot or not, Pete Davidson, it's hot, you know he brings that energy. Of course, I mean even if it's energy, come on, yeah, absolutely. Kid Cutty hit up Joe Burrow after the a f C Championship and asked him for his jersey. Burrow signed it, and Cutty said I'm rocking this bitch to the game, and then framing it, Yes, hot or not? That is so hot. First of all, I love Kid cutty. Everybody is trying to get their hands on a Burrow jersey right now. It just goes to show you that cutty he's got the inside track and maybe that's the good luck charm. Who knows. Let's switch to basketball talk for a quick second. Yeah, who you know? This is the biggest hoops pot at the NFL. You know the buckstar Janice at his press conference this week, after hearing talk about the Super Bowl coming to l A, he had this to say, why did went to the bank? Do you guys know what? Why did the football coach go to the back? Yeah? Go to the bank? Bank? Okay, do you get back? Nothing is hotter than that. That's comedy. I love you. That's fantastic. Give me more of the corniest jokes ever. Absolutely, during the Pro Bowl, Mac Jones ran into the end zone after a play and did the gritty. If Mac Jones can do the gritty, I should be able to do the gritty. I need to learn how to do the gritty. I can't do anything. That's something that we need to work on. Absolutely, is this hot or not? Calling Los Angeles under excessive heat? Watch ahead of the super Bowl? Come on, come on, that's the hottest thing I've ever heard. It's because this matchup is fire, because everyone's sweating the matchup. Also because I don't know there an because we're both in leather pants and they're warm right now. That's right, excessive heat or we're hot. Everything's hot. This is hot. Joe Burrow says when he was rehabbing his a c L in l A, he didn't know many people, so rams Andrew Whitworth took him under his wing. When both of them were rehabbing. They watched games together on Sundays, and Burrow even spent his birthday at Whitworth's house. This makes me love Andrew Whitworth. He is my favorite. He's forty years old, he's still going strong. The fact that he's played for both of these teams, he's the only two teams he's played for in his entire career. Cincinnati absolutely loves him still. And the fact that he took Joe Burrow under his wing. I just my heart is so full, it's so hot. I love your heart. Your heart is so hot. I love that too. I saved the hottest for last. Three friends in their eighties have attended free Super Bowl since the first A f L NFL World Championship game was held five years ago, and it was held only seven miles away from where we are today in Inglewood. But it could be their last one due to old age. They're not sure how many more they can get to inflation price tickets. You know that kind of stuff? Was it? Dan Hansis, Mark Sessler and Greg Rosa from the Around the NFL? Yeah, it was. Yeah, that's that is hot. They got to keep it going and keep it going strong. They look awesome. They're old, right, Aaron, any more background on that story. It's a it's a trio of eight year old men. One of them is in Portland, Maine, ones in Michigan, and one is in I think Tampa, Florida. And uh yeah, they've been to every game together, but due to some health things, they've decided this is their last trip they'll make together. This is the final one. This is a good one to end on, especially so close to where the first one was that they went to. Everything comes full circle, that's life, all right. Erica was at the last headline because we got a guest want good bye? Ready to go coming on in here right now? Whoa, let's do it? We are so excited to welcome in our next guest here. He won't be playing in the game, but he is sitting on the couch right next to us. We got Rams Water, Steven Robert. What's in the house, What ups happening? Thanks for having me. Appreciate you guys, going for you this week going well, really getting excited. Pro Bowl thrill is done. It's all about the Super Bowl now, getting with the guys, getting their mind right, asking about the game plan and making sure they have everything they need to be be prepared for Sunday. Um, I'm rehabbing, but I'm encouraging for sure. All r Yeah, So how does the need for what's going on with that? I saw that you're supposed to be good by spring or so's by this, by this Sunday, this Super Bowl? All right? Now? I was. I saw the Bengals uh tight end throw off his brace and it gave me some motivation. I thought it was possible, but yeah, hoping, hoping for um sometimes the sprain should be full go, but then really just want to be able to work and train. How I wanted to go into training camp and be prepared for full full season and hopefully in a back to back run and say out here now does want to be a part of I want to get back into it and and do it again. Yeah, that's super exciting. First of all, I have to say, your teeth are absolutely beautiful. The whole thing so automatically skyrocketing to the top of the Split Ends guest list. So congrats for that. How has this week been? I mean, emotionally, you're super excited for this, you know, the super Bowl, but it must have been challenging to not be a part of it. So how have you been dealing that with that with your teammates? I know Cooper Cup was very you know, vocal about how much you got this team to where they are. Uh, talk about a little bit about that. Yeah, been a full experience, I would safe from um getting the surgery, UM watching the games from the couch and being fresh out of it, and it's like, man, you know I was just doing that. Um, I was just a part of it, And to um now where I'm at, it is like I'm kind of like, alright, I'm hurt. I'm not I'm not going to be back out there, and really just finding the joy and excitement of my teammates making these plays of our team success of getting to the super Bowl and really the family Cooper Cup, Um, really McVeigh all being supportive, Um of no, you're a part of this, this is this is for you. Um. You may go up to a guy and tell him congratulations and they no, congratulations to YouTube. Like I think everybody in that building, they make an emphasis to making sure that we all feel a part of it, that we all had some contribution what we did. And and once you grass that, you're like, yeah, they wouldn't have done that. So I and like, obviously you have to be super close with Cooper Cup, Like the two of you together were just incredible on the field the season and with Cooper having been in your pretty much exact position before, Like, that's kind of crazy, that's a little trippy in general. Yeah, we got hurt around the same time too, so it was kind of like the same timetable that it was. We end up both tearing our a c L s UM and then having this Super Bowl run, dominating season and really getting to that point, uh, playing really really well. My experience, I don't want this experience for Cooper Cup. You know, we end up losing that game but still was still was a great experience at atmosphere. But that's that's my words for Cooper, um as do it differently than I did, to make sure you finish it. Has he talked to you about anything just kind of like dealing with that, like just like having the a c L and being in the Super Bowl, but but having to watch on the sidelines, knowing that you are such a huge part of why this team is here. Has he talked to you at all just about like deal with it mentally? I would say weekly. It's weekly. We've we've been constantly talking to come in after the games. We talked about some players that I saw from my bird's eye view seeing down from like a coach perspective, and then um, really just all right, what's the game plan this week? But really being able to take advantage of our bus ride to the PEP rally, I was able to sit with him and um and Van Jefferson and they both picked my brain and say, what was what was your Super Bowl experience like? Uh? For you? Then Um, and then he asked Cooper the same Van asked Cooper's saying what was your experience like? And uh? And it's kind of you get into that that experience of you know, uh not being a part of it and then still having the joy of like, you know, being a part of it. I think Cooper was just sending that same experience. It's like you have to almost step back and say and look at what you accomplished before your injury and then get back in and then reinvest with your teammates. And I think that's what he's allowed me to understand and see being still a part of it, being able to speak about the meetings, speak about the play calling, speak about um plays that were made, in plays that weren't made, and do everything to get to the super Bowl level and now finish it and win it. That's awesome. And I think this is such an important deep conversation and so I want to stay really deep and emotional if we can, for a second, do you go to the club Delilah with O B J? And how do we get on that list? She's like, maybe we can go and get some dinner at five o'clock and just stay stay inside. I've talked about maybe like dressing his wait staff for like the valet. I don't know, I mean maybe you tell us, I don't know, you might have to just dance your way in and work your way through the line. Uh this just catch it. I know, I know the lot of list is be fully loaded this this whole week and uh we need to be in there Sunday who had big smiles on her face and uh doing our ring dance for sure. How has that been with having O b j As a part of the rams? Yeah, the timing was crazy. Um a couple of days before Um, obviously you hear the rumors and everybody talking. Uh recruiter of the Year Jalen comes up to us, all the receivers and uh gets us on his FaceTime with O'Dell. And the team is the upper upper team, the off the front office people are all all for O'Dell. O'Dell's cool with them, but O'Dell is asking for our blessing as receivers. Do you guys feel okay with me coming in being a part of you guys group and you guys welcome me, and and we're all on the phone, like, bro, if you'll get out here right now, everybody's you know, just anyone pissed. Was one person like hey come on now, I mean that's she would voice it, you know, I would say, just how mcveig works in this offense. You know, the ball will be spread around. You know he's gonna find ways to get the players the ball and move it around. UM. So that was never thought. It was all about Super Bowl, all about winning, getting all the weapons and everything we needed. UM. Following days he comes to the to the practice field. UM. Literally like the period before I end up shaking shaking his hand. We introduced uh, like on the field and then I'm like, all right, I gotta go take the reps tearing line a c L. And It's like I have to like hobble past him. And I was like, oh, like, what are the odds of this like happening? And it happens, and uh, him being able to come in and step up and play really really big for us and fill that role. I think he had six touchdowns over a few games that he's been with US, UM dominating really really well, but being able to share his A C experienced though as well coming from his So I've been able to hear from Cooper, being able to hear from odell Um, all these guys and Vaughan, all these guys have been helpful and justed this recovery UM and being included really Yeah, And I think that's really interesting the story about Odell kind of asking for your blessing as white receivers. That kind of goes against that whole narrative that is always out there about Odell being the diva, being the one that wants all the attention. And even when he was in Cleveland before, because I know he's boys with Jarvis, and Jarvis always seemed like the more outgoing and talkative one, Like, can you kind of dispel some of those those rumors and the stories that are out there about Odell? Yeah, I would say, uh, I mean, don't give you set a lot of it. I mean, unfortunately his his dad came out and and started but uh, dude, as a quality receiver, Dude, Odell gets open, he works hard, he wants to win, he wants to compete UM, and he wants guys around him who feels the same way, who has that same passion. And a lot of people said the same thing about Jalen when he first came up from Jacksonville, and it's kind of like the same thing, like these players have so much passion and want to win, and when it's not matched just my perspective. When it's not matched around the organization or throughout all your teammates, UM, it gets emotionally. You want to voice that, and I think he did, and I think Jalen did. And I think he came to this our team and wanted our blessing because he knows how we work and how we compete and how we play for each other, and he wanted to know if he could bring that to our atmosphere. And we were welcoming of him and let him know, be yourself. You don't have to be anybody else. Dance, do what you want, and come join our family. And I think, uh, everybody knows that he's a great receiver and can score and do great things with the ball, but I think McVeigh and Yards asked him to block and do other things in its offense. So people are seeing a lot from Odell that they haven't seen um with with other teams. What's it like to play for a coach like Sean McVeigh. I see him running into the end zone, celebrating with players. He's got so much energy, Like this guy is like no one I've ever seen before. Coaching. Yeah, I'm like, coach, you gotta be careful running running down there, and he already pulled his quad at a couple of times. But him just just wanting to be involved with the guys from day one. UM, really being a hands on coach. Uh. Fortunate that he's young and being able to give us a good look of a defensive back or whoever is going to be covering us. He will actually line up in front of us and run guarding us. And uh, it's pretty fast. Um. But I would say just him being so youthful, Um, it's rate because he's able to be hands on as a coach. He doesn't have that old school mentality as my way or the highway. Um, but his way is always like the best way, even even when he's been leading us to to to playoffs, to two super Bowls. Um, everybody trusts him. But he asked for your opinion. He asked to do what you're what you're comfortable with. He wants to put his players in the best position, and he does that. And I think his style and philosophy is growing. You see his coaching tree branching off to the NFL. Because he's a great person in a great coach. What was the team's reaction the following day after he was shirtless in the pool with Rose on hard knocks. Was the team like, hey, coach, come on, where you guys ragging on him? Or No? I mean that's his youthfulness, That's what I mean. You see him and you really like realize that, Like you know, he's he's kind of like one of the guys. You know, he his play calling, the name of his place, UM, how he installs them, UM, just divide that he brings in our meeting room is definitely uh Rose all day, Um, but just just brings, brings the energy. Um shows shows it every day, whether it's in the meeting room, on the field, or at home relaxing or rolling in this nice car to work. You you bring all of this energy to Sofi Stadium. I know you're here today repping so Fi, So tell us a little bit about that. Yeah. Really just proud to partner with them and just the things that they're doing obviously in l A and UH for our community, but really just being able to have an impact on everybody who who's joining the team and joining their app UH makes UM personal banking really easy. You're able to do all your daily task Uh spending saving of course, and really, uh see it all right there, it makes it easy and do it all in app That's great, that's what I need. Now I someone shares, right I have. I actually have a little bit of crypto. I think all that, Yeah, you can do it all. Someone needs to teach me. I feel like I'm a boomer when it comes to crypto, Like I'm like and n and now she's going to I'm not there yet, but the crypto is there. The banking platforms are are bringing into board. Um, so far as one album makes it easy, it's great. You could do all your trading and shares right there. He said, it's a boomer. And now you're going to introduce we're gonna play some majong after that. We might be able to make an n f T of McVeigh in the pool to think about that. Okay, so let's try this out. We have no idea if it's going to work or not. But how do we do all of these? We have a bunch of balls here and we have some numbers on them. They correspond to a question. Producer Aaron is going to, oh, no, there, we all look okay, So five questions. It rolling it got right format form. See this is great. And the bingo wheel it oh it splingo right, yes and splingo the wheel is greased up, ready to rock. And now Aaron has the questions for you. So great question. Who is your favorite teacher in school and why? Oh? My favorite teacher in school would be my high school pre calculust teacher, Mr. Wisa. He was my hardest teacher. Um never cut me any slack, and I would say that's why he's my favorite teacher of my academic career. Yeah. I try to try to get to the USC, had to take all the requirements and just try to get in the best way I could, whether it's academically or athletically. What it looks like. It worked out, So that's great. It definitely did. It definitely did alrighty six? Who introduced you to football? My dad introduced me to football at the age of six. Never played flag football and right into uh tackle football with the Carson Coats. Here's a TV question, Game of Thrones or squid game. That's very tough. I watched both. I was I would say squid games for the creativity of the show. Really haven't seen anything like that before. Uh and we've all played the game, so it was like, really, uh, I don't know, you were able to embrace the show and really feel like you were you were part of it. Alright. Two did you have a favorite coach while you were growing up? I would say, um, yeah, I would say my uncle, uh coach coach Robert as well. Uh. He used to show up to the games and the under armoured tight in mind you he's really really buff and this we're like eight years old, and he would show to the games and he would be really really buff and wearing these underarmoured dry fits playing DMX, intimidating the other team before we even got out there, and he like made it super easy. We all had, we had all the confidence because of our coaching this preparation. Definitely. Yeah, all right. Last one, this is a video game question. Who on the team is the biggest gamer? I would say to to at Well, really yes, he has the whole PC set up monitor with his uh Louisville College pictures set up in there. I would say he's the biggest, biggest gamer and possibly one of the best Call of Duty players. Okay, nice, all right that man, Well, this has been awesome. I'm so glad thanky, thanks for having It's really nice to actually just sit down and be able to have like a extended conversation because usually if we're talking to you guys, it's post game or you know, a three minute interview where we talk about the same type of stuff. So this was really nice to kind of get to know you a little bit more. Appreciate it. I told you, I love to said it with the couch does make you feel comfortable at home. Casual conversation for sure. Next year we're gonna have like an omelet station or definitely like put an order and get some food. It's gonna be great, while bottle services great. Good Thank you guys. Next year. Yeah, right now? Oh yeah, you big bingo guy, not grandma's. Oh yeah, makes sense. That's awesome. That's what I was going for. I'm trying to connect with everyone, and I know that everyone's grandma shows a big grandma audience, really big grandma audience. Who we're talking to right now? You might be wondering. He is a first team All Pro, he's a pro bowler, he's a prose pro. His name is Devo. Oh but I don't even know that's gonna happen to know. What's up. How you doing. I'm great, I'm good. You look great. You look like you're having a good time. You're decked out an old spice. It's awesome. Definitely. How's the week been for you? It's really just getting started. This is like my I don't know how many appearances is for me, but I think it's my last one foot to day and I get to risk. So you're like, You're like, let's get this ober way, We're gonna make a fun It's great. I saw you were at the Lakers game right last night. You got you got cheered. You also got food. But that's why it must have been a nice experience either way. Yeah. I mean when the camera got on me, I got food. But when the camera was off, I just felt like I was in San Francisco. There was like I wish you what are we doing here right right? You gotta you like be honest, you like Lebron, would you want either one tight end your Brockye? Okay, cool. Well, let's talk a little bit about the new position in the NFL that everyone is scouting right now across the country, the wide back. So what would you think makes a you know, a strong wide back. Yes, it should just be called the debo, right, yeah, Okay, so you think just you are the prototype for the wide back. I mean, I have to agree, honestly, this year had to have been so crazy for you because it's kind of like the first year that everyone saw what you were truly capable of doing, and the wide back became just like very popularized. I feel like with you and the way that you were able to play, and the fact that the first two seasons in the league for you what you had, you were injured and then there was like some COVID stuff that went on, and then this year but you just went out there absolutely crushed it. What was that like for you? Just knowing that you finally got everybody's attention? It was it was kind of amazing to me. Um. I talked to one of my best, best of friends and I was like, Hey, did you think this year was gonna that was gonna be like this? You know? I was like kind of this good? He was like, yeah, he was like did you? I was like, I knew I was good, but not how I just went in the NFL like you don't see stuff like this happens and it was just amazing. It was an amazing It's a blessing just to just to show all the work I put in his offseason and Kudo's the West Walker, um my right hand man. He he sat me down and he was like, all right, in order for you to be the player that you need to be, this is what you need to do. You need to have a schedule, you need to be doing this at this time. This is this time, sleep by the end, all right, and do it all over again until we get started. So um be, kudos to him for for being a mentor coach, big brother. I didn't even realize that West was on the staff until like halfway through the season, and I was like if I was welcome, Like, oh my god, he's doing God's work. You guys were so much fun to watch. And then the NFC Championship game, I mean, you had me almost you have me almost crying at the end of that game. What what was the conversation? What if Odell say to you when he went over? What's so crazy? I couldn't even talk. He was talking to me and I couldn't even pay attention to what he was saying. So he had takes me. He was like, hey, bro, just call me later in the week. I know things are hard right now. Just then in the third and he was just like all right. So when I talked to him, he was like, man, I was just telling you how proud I was of you, and like the work that you put in it's not unnoticed, and how good of a season I've had. And I kind of took the switch off me and flipped it back to him. I was like, all right, now, let let let's talk about your journey. I know, I know what it feels likes to be injured the Dark Knights and and all this stuff and listening to the people saying that he's not a team person and he calls problem in the locker room and for a guy to not celebrate with his team and to come over there and make sure I'm fine, I kinna second guest things like dead and when when people was like, all right, is O'Dell gonna be the Odell that he used to be in right now? He really is? So Like I told him, I was like, bro, you you've been doing some amazing stuff, like without Odell on that team. I don't think I don't think it's I don't think it's possible, especially after Robert Woods went out, Like the timing of all that. We were just talking to Robert about that and how strange it all, like, the the way that it all aligned and how it all happened, and how O'Dell just fit seamlessly into into the team, and the chemistry that like he's basically had almost immediately with Matthew Stafford has just been kind of incredible watched because they're really just kind of unlocking him in the postseason and figuring out how to use him. Right. I feel like he's just been he's been doing a great job over there with him, and that's that's the piece that they needed, and that's the piece that they needed to beat us, and they did it. Looking towards the future, what have you seen from Trey Lance that maybe we have UM first of all? First of all, first of all, I don't think it's too much excitement. I don't think it's it's down either. But first of all, when it comes to trade, I think Jimmy Garoppolo was a great mentor to him, UM, a great leader, a great big brother to always having him ready to play, because you never know in this league what's gonna happen, Jimmy could go down. Jimmy made sure that Trade was always ready to play, and um, just speaking from experience, UM, this is gonna be his first offseason. So with time come greatness. Like I just said, well West Worker did to me to help me become the player I am. I feel like Kyle is going to do the same thing to Trade to make sure he has this schedule. The amount of time of work that you have to put in to be a quarterback in his league, it's it's x amount of hours. Like it's it's ridiculous. It's way more hours than what I need to be doing for his playbook, motions, formations and Kyle's offense, which is crazy. But I feel like once Trade, you know how to become a pro, how to train and get his mind and his body right to wrap around all the things that it takes to win a game. Like I just stated, I feel like Trey will be a superstar in this league. Yeah, I mean he's got he's got some stuff to work on. But there's so many fun players on this team, and there's so many guys that are are versatile and what they can do, like Kiddle, the fact that he's just like, he's not even a tight end, he's kind of like you. And the fact that like you're a wide back and then you have George Kittle who's like and everything type of frye. But when you think back to the season that you had, because there were just so many highlights, did you have a favorite play? Did you have a favorite moment? I had, I had a favorite play. Um, my favorite play was throwing a touchdown. That was but the favorite my favorite moment is um. I don't think not too many of people would say this a favorite moment. But when we was two and four, three and four and we lost four games in a row, we u We came together as a team as a leadership group with Kyle shan here and we talked about how good our team is and why are we losing these games? Uh? And so after that, the big moment for me was that Monday night game. After we had that conversation with the team, we come out and beat the Rams and every since we beat the Rams. On that Monday night, we hit a home stretch where we was just rolling. So that was the big the big turning point for me in the season. The way that that the regular season ended too. It was like so dramatic with the win over the Rams and you get in and then you're just rolling like it was. It was really a roller coaster to watch this whole season. And we could talk about a little bit more, but I'm thinking back to when you first got to the league, and I remember was that you that came in for Path to the Draft to the NFL Network studio to do. We had Brian Baldinger and studio and we were talking about sneakers at one point, and I'm just trying to see, like where your sneaker collection is at this point and how you're dealing with that sickness because I have it to my mom hates it and and not even her shoes and it's not even her house and she doesn't even live with me. She's like, what are you doing with this? Why are you buying shoes here? I'm like, whoa, I just like tennis shoes. But it is like it's really really, really really bad, like how many how many pairs are we talking just ballparks? I don't know. It's more than liked is that you too have I'm not at three D yet, but it's it's getting there. I'm north of I had to have shelves build built in my closet, but now his shoes are all over the floor. I have nowhere to put them. That's the thing. The storage component I'm always interested in, Like where people put all of their sneakers because I need to have mine. And do you keep the box? Do you keep them in the boxes like I have the clear boxes with the with the front the pops over and you can see that somebody coming in. And just do you have a pair that you will not wear? I have of these shoes that I've never wore, and I had about two years right now, I never wore. You got a favorite pair? Uh? The d R Ones is my favorite? Are Ones. Emmanuel Sanders convinced me to BUYRONM and it was really expensive, really and you and have you worn those? I wore him one time Hells on my birthday in last year. Alright, well birthday shoes, that makes that makes sense. And I was in the club with my friends and he was a little he was a little who was drunk and he spilt some of them and almost almost lost my cools. So I sent him to a guy that cleaned my shoes. And just let him sit on nice Yeah, you can't wear those. Yeah, you can't bring those out. You definitely can't. Emmanuel Senders for baiting me to buy them. Yeah, you know how much they called? He told me. Yeah, he's doing He's working with some sneaker company that's like renting out sneakers. I think right now. He came on the a little bit ago. We were talking to him on NFL network. Um, but he's he's great. I didn't realize that he was such a big sneaker head his Instagram. No, I'm not dialing it. Well, now I have to follow him crazy. Yeah, he got more shoes than me. This is that's wild. How many do you think he has? I don't know. He like north of what over under four. I gotta I gotta ask him about his shoe storage. Yeah, like what do you do with it? I'm a fact him about his closed storage. First. Yeah, he used to come to work and he used to kind of work at like six o'clock in the morning with a whole fit on, like an outfit every every day. I'm sweatpants, I'm rolling out of bed, laid that out ahead of time the night before. He dress Now don't get me wrong. He can, he can dress, He definitely can. He should get an awarded honors maybe before that. I don't know. That's that's that's some dedication that takes planning an organization to absolutely should we whip out the Splingo wheel? Yeah? You you ever play Splingo deebo Bingo? It's well here we call it Splingo's really high tech bingo wheel. I don't know what is this. It's like a it's okay, a Bingo number wheel. So what if I put a nineteen out of it? It would be crazy? WHOA? Alright, sorry, and get five of them. If one is nineteen, I'm going to freak out. Yeah, same, keep going. We got one. So each ball has a number on it, and then Aaron is going to read the question. We've got a first number. What do we got any nineteens? All right, we'll have a reveal. So these are going to be rapid fire, just random plus um they're pretty deep and eccentric, believe you. But okay, alright, first up, Oh this is perfect number forty three favorite sneakers. We did that. I feel like we need to roll again on that. Need more. It's like I knew it was coming. If this is nineteen, we need to get some w D forty for that is that nineteen? This is number one? I used to be number one? Look at that? Still are many? Do you have a favorite pregame song? Okay? Added to the playlist, all right, fourteen is a TV show question? Succession or the Wire? I don't know. Yeah, let me spend this wheel. I need to get in on Succession. So I've heard, but no, I need to But I heard, I heard the crazy. I heard there was an absolutely insane finale. Somebody got shot. Well, okay, so what we need to watch someone? Oh yeah, just someone goes just like dialed in. But I haven't actually watched the She reads the summary. Reports online Summer reports that since we're in l A, we're right next to Crypto dot Com, Kobe or Lebron. That's tough, that's kind of Oh, you gotta pack, you gotta pick. Unfortunately, there comes a time in life where we all have to make a tough decision. I'm gonna explain this. Lebrin has been my favorite player for a long time, and I always said that he was betting Kobe always said, but but Kobe Bryant, Kobe Bryant. Okay, alright, alright, number four, do you have a favorite touchdown celebration? You gotta hit degretty? Okay, learn it? Come on, Mac Jones, did it? Want you want to learn how to do it? I mean sure, yeah, we could do that. It's not really an audio thing, though, but I can totally film. Alright, alright, you got heels, he's going to hurt. Okay, alright, fine, you have to bounce your heels. Your heels. Oh, I can't do that heels. Yeah, we'll try. Nineteen. Favorite team as a kid. Oh, I love this one. Tell you a true story. I didn't watch football growing up here, this is breaking news. But I did have a favorite player, Reggie Bush. I used to play running back. Have you had a chance to meet him? Yet? You got to meet him? Wait? So when did you start watching football? NFL? No, shot. I used to watch the playoffs and stuff, but I never like, all right, let's watch football. So you just played? But I was a basketball player. Wow, I was Allen Iverson and Lebrun James fan Allen Iverson. He he had a pretty great moment courtside last night. I don't know if he saw him eating popcorn. Watched one of the games. Yeah it was. Did you see it? No, I didn't see it. He looked like he was on a maybe another planet. He was at a very nice place, and I enjoyed the energy that he was getting off. That's amazing. That's amazing. Was that the last one here? That was? Yeah? Oh my god, don't you've done it again? Hold up, though, because I need to know a little bit more about old spice. Like I was waiting to see if maybe you brought some old spice over. Um. Erica loves old spice, and what if I didn't bring any. That's all right, though, time we're gonna we're gonna like do a little role play here. But I did bring up. This is the This is the Gentleman Blend Lavender mitt last thing beautiful deodorant. And we also have the body wash over there if you want your man some body wash out and bring you a little pankage. But you'll want to get it because it smelled real good too. It kind of smelled better than it. But all right, I'm opening it up and let you lavender mint. Oh it smells great. I wish my man smelled like this so much. Hold on, I gotta smell it. Smell I did to him, all right, let's see. Oh my god, I just oh that is nice and fresh. It's like I'm in a rainforest, and that's what I would hope that the rainforest smelled like after it rain. It's exactly nice. Deebo, thank you, thank you so much. We uh, we can't wait to see you play again. That's for you, Erica. You gotta take that with you. You're saving my love life. He's charming, he's generous. He is Deebo Samuel every Yes, and I got one too. That's great. Good luck, have fun this summer this week. Thanks thanks for having me. So, Colleen, I have a surprise guest for you. Actually, so if you can get your mic on right here off. Yes, it's a great set. I know we are chilling. It's like it's right there with your set, like the couch asked pretty close. So Colleen didn't know you were coming on. I had no idea of surprising you because we have this bit on the show, because Colleen goes on on your show all the time, right, she's on there, friend friend of the program. Absolutely, Um, did you know that I exist and that we have a podcast together. That's very rude. Never brought it up, that's very rude. Yeah, because I asked her a couple of times. I don't know how much of the interviews you've seen. I don't if you see them all, because there was a lot of times where I was like, Colleen, I see your work, you have an incredible co host, Like is there any chance maybe next time? And she always like, you know, figure skatered a way out of it. It was always like, oh, well do a triple mctwiste actual thing boom into another conversation, great NFL alext And that's a shame. Honestly, you should have been all a long time. No, I'm not even I mean, I think you have a great program. I love it, love the boys, I think it's great. I love that Colleen's on it. But every single time it just seems to slip her mind, and I'm like, do we have an issue? Like should we see a couple? That's why we have the couch here? Yeah? That do we work it all out together? Yeah, tell me about how we got here. If you would like me to do a doctor Phil situation, I mean, we can figure that out. But I think you guys are doing just fine. But it's on me. By the way, I should have you on the show. No, no, I have nothing, nothing important to say. The best mood isn't gonna help things. Yeah, Pat's having some issues. That hair, isn't it on leave? I mean yours is pretty similar. We're rocking. No, not as as hair war that you can have here. You use blood drying that thing, No, I don't. I just use a little palmaid that's natural. That just happened. You got good thing. You do it enough times and then it just sticks. Wow. I saw you from across the room today and I was admiring it. It was like glistening in the lights. We just met for the first time, like in person, since we've been doing everything over zo crazy then the first night and she was like, your hair is really good in real life. The hair. That's unbelievable hair. Me and A J. By the way, this is like the third time we've ever been in studio together. Oh my gosh, how's that been Because he's always in the attic. Yeah, he's just next to me in the attic in Ohio, And the only time he comes Indianapolis to be in studios when I can't be in studio and I'm in a hotel room on a computer or whatever, just for it's nice. He's an incredibly toxic person. Obviously, he's he's incredible a football time leading tackler for the Packers, and he's hysterical, and he has a dry sense of humor and like a mohawk thing right, like a slick a massive head too, and he cuts his own hair. He cuts his own so it's just one of those things. You know, he's the most Ohio guy of all time. But as people get to know him a little bit more, they understand that he's just like one of the most hilarious humans of all time. And that's been a blast on and get to chat with him in person. But all the guests in person have been awesome because we're in the middle of Indiana, you know, normally the show and ain't nobody coming. Nobody's coming through, so we're good. We're big FaceTime Zoom show, big FaceTime Zoom show, so you're gonna see everybody. It's been pretty nice. It's been amazing and I'm thankful to be here. Thank you said that you guys have though there's like a it's like a chain chain, beaded curtain type of thing to come in through your was phenomenal. Yeah, you know what I'll do next time. I'm sure we don't even have that calling. Well, you're just making stuff up out of taking stuff out. I'm bringing solutions and ideas, you know what. I'm being combative and aggressive. Yeah, but without the combative nature you don't really have any progress. So both sides are definitely needed. But there's a lot of valid questions being asked over here. Yep, that's right, third party. That's great that you're right, You're actually right. Splint En is my favorite podcast too, and I knew I knew it, Like that's why, that's why we have this instant connection, that's why we just work together. So well, um, it's been really nice. Yeah, well now we're three of us and great hair. I think of splint Ends as the sister show of the Pat McAfee show. I love were raw. We're like people the f off, Like we're like, get out of here. Do you say that? I do all the time? And then she's like, hey, you gotta edit that, so you do like a little asshole. So I'm like I'm like, Colleen, get your head out of here. I think it kind of comes from being from Philly and she's from Boston. We have a mass all on our show as well. I'm so sorry every show like has one and show. Yeah, I do believe that, but it's good. I think masshole is always up the product. Yeah, I agree. I agree again. I mean, you guys are pretend atually staring down. I mean Mac Jones is good, I guess, but yeah, I mean, who knows Tom Brady is going to go to another team and have success and you guys just gonna have to sit there and it's happening. It's not really retiring. Retiring it doesn't even mean anything, right, It's fake. Well, salary caps are fake. Those are unreal. That's a lot of money. It's a lot of highest salary cap in the history. There's seventy one million over. Imagine if it didn't move. Imagine if seller the hundred ten billion dollar meteorites didn't happen, that thing would they'd be a hundred sub million over. That's almost a hundred percent over what the old salary cap was. How do you do that? I wish my salary was a hundred percent over. I don't understand how the Rams do it. How they like just keep bringing in all of these huge names and stars, Like, how are they massaging this cap? Because they're doing a great job, Solar cap Gymnastics is something that we're watching take place in front of our eyes. What the capital is the Olympics, Veach, it is the Olympics. Hey, that's good time in there. Thank you, it's pretty good. Good. Do you smell the CBD on my body right now? I was going to ask you your just because you're nontha, right, do you smell menth al right now? Really don't? I was is crying for the last thirty five minutes because Carson Palmer came through with his CBD. Kate would level selects something I don't know. I have no ties to any CBD. So every year Carson's pumping his CBD, and every year it's always something I do, something, I try it out, I give it ago the animals. This time I took half the tin and put on my arms and I rubbed it in. There was like a coat as if like I was a very bland white on vacation on my nose. You know, there's a coat of that and it was on my hands and and I rubbed my face. I thought that was a good idea. I was not told it was mental. So I rubbed my face because the muscles in my face obviously been used a lot, have been talking a lot here in radio row. CBD it's supposed to cure the muscles got right into my eyeballs. I had mental in my eyes for minutes. I was bawling my eyes out. This is actually the Savior coming over here, and this a magical uh set here has really brought me back to life. So thank you guys. I'm so glad that we could help. My mom thinks that CBD will get you high. Um, can you just make sure that my mom knows that that's not the case, because I gave a CBD low for Christmas and she was very upset with me. Yeah, so CBT is not the one that's going to get you to the proper state of mind that you're looking for. If you're looking to have a bit of a those are vitamins T, H and C, but those are two very different ones. They do come together as a tag team every once in while. Those are the best in my particular opinion. But your mother should feel very comfortable with just to see me, especially Carson Palmer's pushing what a pitch. Hey, I'm so glad you stopped by. Thank you for surprising Colleen. I appreciate it. I think thanks for let me think we're good now? Right? I think so are? We can tell me. I don't know. I'll think about it all right, Well, you're not over it yet. This one holds some grudges. Yeah, me too. It's awesome. Those are the best. Well, you should let go of them sometimes, especially if there's a good answer, like you're coming on the show. So hey, thanks for me on your show, Calle Eric, thank you so much. Split Ends. Let's go, Let's go Split Ends. You're hurting your purse. So wow, you're bringing over Pat mccafee. Yeah, I thought that would be a good. Um. Surprised for you. You You handled it like a pro. I knew you would. I was also laughing at what if I surprised you with someone like Super Football Heavy, where all of a sudden you had no prep whatsoever. Um, that would that's called my worst nightmare. What a great friend. You would never forgive me if I did that. But I think I think the Pat McAfee sort of you know, let's just talk it out on the couch. I think it worked out really well. Yeah, it's you know, it's one of the things about doing radio Row that is always in the back of my mind, so you can never know who's coming well that and then when we do our like media rounds for it, they just have us with a different media outlet like every five ten minutes, and then sometimes I will not have had a chance to look over who I'm doing the interviews with, and it will be like, Okay, now you're going to sit down with checks notes, um, the jets, and then I have to talk about like the ins and out like that's fine. I can totally do that, um, But you know, depending on the team, sometimes I'm just like not as dialed in at that very moment just because of the circumstances. Obviously this week it's all Rams, it's all Bengals, and we love it. We love it, we live for it. I love it. It's a circle of life calling, you know. It's just like, you know, speaking of circles. Uh, this bingo bingo circle ball board, I don't know what is it. I still don't really know. It's like a bingo wheel and you know, it's like the lottery ticket thing where you where you spin this metal thing. It's a ball drop off. Yeah, it's like it's like the dancing cages at Delilah. Right, so I haven't been there yet, but now I have a visual for it. So that's good. That's something to look forward to. You wanna throw around a couple of these questions, A couple of couple of friends, A couple of extra minutes here, So let's talk to some ball Okay, Erica, maybe we do like three each. Erica is spinning the cage around. All right, she's got three splingo cage. Let's see what you want, Okay, passing them over to Aaron. Alright, here we go. First up, favorite car? Can I answer? It's like a This is like the newly weed game. She knew it, Mercedes, Okay. Number thirty. Which of your co hosts has the weirdest eating habits? Probably be me. I don't really eat a lot. We went to sushi together. I don't eat fish, and I picked the restaurant. Um. I don't eat a lot. I'm gluten free. I'm also allergic to nuts. A lot of seeds make me swell off. So I'm probably the weirdest. Yeah, I don't really have another food question. Favorite dessert, favorite dessert? Oh my god, I feel like I gotta go with just like a nice bowl of ice cream. What flavor You're not gonna like this? Proba lave a mint chocolate chip. Oh, that's my favorite. It's like we have a podcast together. I'm sorry to food questions during this very trying time. I am on a juice clean's right now because I'm trying to look somewhat presentable on the Honor's red carpet tomorrow, which is also just a random Thursday. When was the last time you had solid food? What day is it today? Wednesday? Monday night with us with us? Yeah, yeah, I had those little steaks. So your last solid food was going to a restaurant where you don't eat the main item. They correct, And now my stomach is rumbling wow as we speak. Okay, yeah, as you mentioned, you're doing the honors tomorrow night, Colleen, would you like to do the honors of rolling him? So she's rolling it. We're both in leather pants, as I said, so reaching reaching overs as a little bit um tedious, dropping the ball, dropping the ball all right, Colleen's three okay, number thirty eight. We're in a lot of food ones. I apologize. What's your coffee order? Skinny? Even la latte? Such a basic bitch? Me too? Really, I got a Venti. Sometimes I'll do a flat white. I love a flat white. A little bit more caffeine, a little bit. Wow, that's great. We're really alike. I know, scary, scary for you and awesome for me. In honor of the halftime show, pretend you're Dr Dre. You're working on your new song. Oh God, who are your dream collaborators for this song? Besides, like Eminem, you're laying down the beach. I want I want meek Mill. I want the roots to come in meek Mill, Ericapa do Eve? I want run the Jewels? Okay, so Philly, Okay, Colleen, I'm going to go off script a little. Who introduced you to football? My cousin Katie and I didn't watch a ton of football like with my dad growing up. I feel like that's sort of the traditional story. As my dad's calling my watch right now. He has he knows I'm standing here, he knows I'm doing the show, and he's going to be like, hey, it sounds like you gotta work some stuff out with that too. Back over here to work out things with you and Pops. Yeah, he's a big splitch. Okay, good Katie Kane, that's who I owe all of my football, early football knowledge to. She helped me fall in love with football, taught me all of the basics. Like sat down with her and she was like, Okay, here we go. This is down in distance. So yeah, Katie Kane, awesome. Alright those I love that, I love. I know. We should play that more. We should market it, we should we need to do a whole marketing thing. Yeah, you know what I mean. Isn't Splingo? Isn't that games already? Blanco? Yeah, it's with the Planko Blanco, that's what planko. Wow, we were way all got anything like splingo. All right, So that's it. When those drums come in, it can only mean one thing. It's time for the split. End of the week. Hit me with the sex of mohone. This is this is an exciting week. We have the super Bowl coming up. Anything else that we're looking forward to. You know, I feel like I might be forgetting something, but I don't really have any notes in front of me today. But there's something about Thursday. Oh, I know, it's NFL Honors. It's coming up on Thursday. I'm gonna walk the red carpet for the first time in my life. I'm going to be on the red carpet. Um. I think that's it though, right or wrong? Or is it? Someone's birthday is joining, it's just joining the everybody. Yeah, that's what we say. Club thirty and so Aaron and I because it's such a big birthday, we also have a surprise for and this is just like bringing Pat McAfee over to surprise me. It's not totally wrapped, but it is sort of wrapped, so if you'd like to unwrap it. We both both brought this separately, and it's just it's a really really it's wrapped in um paper towels. Let's see, let's see what it is. It's so weird phallic shape, it's a it smells kind of weird. It's a rotten banana. They both banana is this? Like, why are you guys laughing? S hard to slip on this because I'm not eating food. We just we saw the bruise bananas and we want we we know that you're on a juice cleanse, and we want to make sure that you eat some solid foods. But a bruise banana sometimes is quite It's it's not a hard food to eat. It's soft enough that I think it would be a good way to transition from your juice cleanse. You just throw them in the car as soon as the NFL Honors is done. You've got to bananas right there. You guys are so thoughtful. I never you know, when I look back at my life and career and it's like I'm thirty and I'm interviewing celebrities on on the Red Carpet, what I will remember most is the two rota thank you so much. You deserve both of those. We love you, Erica. Enjoy Thursday. I'll see you on the Red carpet. But until next time, everybody out there, tell your friends about the podcast, rate Review, subscribe all of it, and we'll see you when we see you. Are we doing a show next week? I don't know if we've talked about it. You know we will. This is something I should have figured out at the time, but we'll let you know. It's a work in progress, all right. Um So if that if we don't see you next week, we'll see you when we see you, and until that time happens. Erica, that land the plate let's split. Oh my god, you guys suh, that's awesome. I'm so hungry. I might need this, Like Colly. Colly was like all I have is a bruised banana. I was like, I have one in my back too,
