The Decatur Flames High School Hockey team captured the inaugural Central Illinois High School State Championship. After a thrilling triple overtime win over Kankakee, the Flames captured the title with a win over McLean. This is the first year of the Central Illinois High School State championship, featuring downstate teams with Chicago teams having their own tournament.
