Musical theatre teen Tara brings a bevvy of her favorite musical theatre tracks for the April school holidays. 

On this mid-autumn evening, here amongst the mountain forests of Corhanwarrabul, we are off on a pop-filled Narrm/Melbourne staycation to welcome the easter long weekend and delve into the musical world of the upcoming Melbourne Popfest.  This is taking place at the Coburg RSL on April 11th and 12th and is billed as: “A weekend festival that celebrates Melbourne’s undying love for underground indie pop music - wistful melodies, scratchy guitar racket, cheap Casios, unabashed jingle-jangle, and way too much tambourine!”  To guide us on this journey, we have the special treat of having Melbourne Popfest organisers Mark and Xavier on the show. A special Fresh Air featuring songs from some kids from all over the outer east that have been through a really special program that Rotary Boronia began facilitating a few years ago.  Knox Rocks is a Rotary driven, youth focused  program that gives kids in our local community to learn about song writing.   Mark and Katie tell use all about their experiences and we play some music from the program. A small content note, parts of the show includes discussion of suicide and eating disorders, which some listeners may find distressing. Robert Arthur makes a one-hour appearance to celebrate 3MDR’s Radiothon and 40th year, starting off with a rarity from John Lennon - Life Begins at 40 Co-presenter of The Feast (and 3MDR President) Ben Langdon sings Mama, recorded for The Dotted Line in 2019 Featured as a  music bed throughout the show is Scans, from the new Keep Moving album by Xani Kolac, another co-presenter of The Feast, Tuesdays at 3pm. Come Alive from the new album Abreast by The Maes.
