Mansfield native Matthew Failor just wrapped up the Kuskokwim 300—one of the toughest sled dog races in the country. After battling strong winds, drifting snow, and unexpected travel delays, he finished eighth, crossing the line in Bethel, Alaska, with six of his twelve dogs. But for Failor, the Kusko 300 was more than just another race—it was his final tune-up before the 2025 Iditarod.
