Reign FC outshot the North Carolina Courage 17 to 10 at Lumen Field, but a deflected 48th-minute goal from Gianna Paul was the difference. That loss ended Seattle’s seven-match home unbeaten streak and dropped the club to ninth, two points below the playoff line with three matches left. Keely Dunning and Laura Schott cover the key moments, including Coco Mondesir’s free kick off the crossbar, and talk through what the Reign need to do to get back into the top eight. Our hosts also celebrate Jordyn Bugg’s contract extension through 2030, and her becoming the youngest defender in NWSL history to reach 50 regular season appearances. Then, we turn to the 2027 Women’s World Cup, starting with Claudia Dickey’s call-up for the USWNT’s October friendlies against Spain, and discuss how the NWSL can capitalize on the tournament’s momentum. Plus, Sofia Huerta earns NWSL Best XI of the Month honors.
