First interview of Season 2!! And who better to welcome to the show than Melbourne's-own R&B queen Alisya Rae @alisyarae !! 

Alisya has been a busy bee this year releasing 3 new singles, starting off with the anthemic 'Same Thing' at the top of the year, followed by the nostalgia and atmosphere of 'Too Long' and the R&B bop that is 'I Might'. All of these works (and one more!) have culminated in the recent release of Alisya's debut EP 'For The Night'. Each song brings its own story reflecting on infatuation, obsession, love and frustration, and together they combine to create a silky smooth R&B collection - full of Alisha's truly soulful vocals, fierce lyricism and instrumentals that demand a dance!

This evening we are welcoming into the studio Naarm-based Alt-Soul artist and producer Rob Aspinall @rob.aspinall ⭐️And not only are we playing some of his recent music and inspirations, we also get the pleasure of airing for the first time his upcoming track ‘All That Matters’, which will release tomorrow!

For fans for of Hiatus Kaiyote, Jordan Rakei and Leon Thomas, Rob’s music is for you. Sonically, Rob's work is a blend of R&B, neo-soul, jazz and hip hop and defined by lush instrumentation. Episode 11 incoming!! In the show this week we welcome a truly multidisciplinary artist, Eritrean-Australian singer-songwriter, theatre performer and doctor from Nipaluna/Hobart... the wonderful Shewita!! @iamshewita

For fans of Alicia Keys, Destiny's Child and Kelela, Shewita combines elements of all of these artists and more, marrying early-2000s R&B-pop nostalgia with modern alternative R&B influences. Informed by the music of her childhood and musical theatre, Shewita creates considered lyricism grounded in the storytelling of the stage, and driven by infectious R&B melodies.

'CINS', the second single off of Shewita's debut EP(!!) came out last week and is an atmospheric and anthemic exploration of the doubt and friction that can accumulate in close relationships. Reena and Hannah sat down with Shewita to hear all about the process of creating and releasing 'CINS' and 'Too Soon', and the project to come!
