Courtney Brown, Executive Director of the Ruah Woods Institute, joins the Son Rise Morning Show to explore the influence of St. Bernard of Clairvaux on the Church's understanding of the Song of Songs and its connection to St. John Paul II's Theology of the Body. They discuss the profound bridal imagery of Christ and His Church, the meaning of the human body as a sign of God's love, and the connection between the Song of Songs and Ephesians 5.

Courtney also explains how St. Bernard's emphasis on the gift of self helps illuminate John Paul II's teaching on marriage, human sexuality, and ultimately Christ's total self-gift on the Cross.
