How does presenting Catholic doctrine in its full clarity and depth offer true liberation rather than a stumbling block for those seeking to enter the Church? On The Son Rise Morning Show, host Matt Swaim welcomes back Catholic speaker and catechist Michael Gormley ("Gomer") to discuss Invited, the new Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) program from Ascension Press.

Gormley reflects on the essential balance of presenting Church teaching with both the "rigor and vigor of the Gospel," explaining why minimizing difficult moral doctrines deprives seekers of life-giving truth. He and Swaim discuss common obstacles in adult initiation—from secular skepticism to irregular marriage situations—and highlight how authentic catechists can walk alongside candidates as disciples, helping them navigate hard truths to find healing, clarity, and peace in Christ.
