Jelena Dokic speaks about the death of her father on the Stellar podcast

Jelena Dokic sits down for an exclusive conversation to discuss her Logies win, the death of her father and her new love. 

Jelena Dokic became one of the biggest names in tennis as a teenager, reaching world No.4 and defeating some of the sport’s top players. And in the years since leaving the court, she has spoken openly and powerfully about surviving family violence, struggling with mental health and navigating body shame – from others and herself. 

In this episode, Jelena discusses her recent Logie win for Unbreakable: The Jelena Dokic Story, her work advocating for young women in a new campaign with World Vision, and – on the first Father’s Day since his death earlier this year – her “complicated” grief around the late Damir Dokic, from whom she had been estranged for a decade. She also talks about going public with her new relationship, and explains how she reached a place of greater confidence and self-acceptance: “I could easily say I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.”
