Women-only spaces have been around for centuries. In various cultures and times in history, some forms or another of female seclusion have been accepted or even encouraged. Today we ask, are women-only spaces under attack? and is it sometimes ok to exclude in the name of inclusion?
We speak with Sall Grover, founder and CEO of 'Giggle' - a female-only app, made by Women for Women. Giggle is a platform where women can connect with one another. Share their thoughts and opinions, search for accomodation, meet new people and more!
Recently, the App has come under fire for its lack of inclusion of members in the Trans Community. As a "female-only" platform, Giggle permits Trans-Men on the app, but not Trans-Women, and uses biometric gender verification to do so.
In this episode, we learn more about the creation of Giggle, the importance of having women-only spaces, and we discuss whether sometimes exclusion is ok.
To find out more about Giggle, you can download the app on the App Store and GooglePlay.
