SoccerHellenic are back as the academy win the cape town Engen Knockout Challenge
Hellenic made a wonderful return to the Engen Knockout Challenge as the Cape Town football academy walked away the winners of the Cape Town tournament today. Having qualified for the first time in 3 years, Hellenic beat Grassy Park United 2-1 in the final to lift the trophy and qualify for October’s Champion of Champions series in Gauteng. Hellenic’s coach Neven Payne, the former Santos and Hellenic midfielder, says he is delighted and surprised to walk away winners, especially considering the age of the squad, but he says creating quality young players is the legacy of Hellenic.
