Before meditating on God's word, relax your body and open your mind and heart to receive His truth Inhale and exhale slowly through your nose. Rest one of your hands gently on your stomach. With each breath. Feel your hand rise and fall as your stomach expands and contracts. Take a deep breath through your nose. As your stomach expands, feel your air flow from your lungs into your abdomen. Exhale slowly through your nose and feel your stomach push the air out, allowing the oxygen to flow freely throughout your body, rejuvenating every cell and every muscle. With your next excite, release any tension in your body. Feel your heart lighten as your body relaxes and as you take deep breaths through your nose, close your eyes and focus your thoughts on God. Meditate on his promises. Know He is always with you, upholding you and sustaining you. Breathe in his power and strength. Breathe out your stress and anxiety from today. Clear your mind of any distractions, and get ready to listen to His word. Take a deep breath. Ask God to speak to you tonight and comfort you with his everlasting truth. Exhale slowly and release any tension in your body. When we face battles in our lives, it is easy to focus on the losses in our present rather than the victories in our past. In these moments, the Bible tells us to reflect on the times the Lord has delivered us and hold on to the hope that He will rescue us at just the right time. Psalm seventy four from the King James version says, O God, why hast thou cast us off forever? Why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture? Remember thy congregation, which thou hast purchased of old, the rod of thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed this mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt, lift up thy feet unto the perpetual desolations, even all that the enemy hath done wickedly in the sanctuary. Thine enemies roar in the midst of thy congregations. They set up their ensigns for signs. A man was famous according as he had lifted up axes upon thick trees. But now they break down the carved work thereof at once with axes and hammers. They have cast fire into thy sanctuary. They have defiled by casting down the dwelling place of thy name to the ground. They said in their hearts, let us destroy them together. They have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land. We see not our signs. There is no more any prophet, neither is there among us any that knoweth. How long o God, how long shall the adversary reproach? Shall the enemy blasphemy thy name forever? Why withdrawest thou thy hand, even thy right hand, pluck it out of thy bosom. For God is my king of old working salvation. In the midst of the earth, Thou didst divide them. See by thy strength thou breakest the heads of the dragons in the waters. Thou breakest the heads of the Vithan in pieces, and gavest him to be meet to the people inhabiting the wilderness. Thou didst cleave the fountain and the flood. Thou driedest up mighty rivers. The day is thine, the night is also thine. Thou hast prepared the light and the sun. Thou hast set all the borders of the earth. Thou hast made summer and winter. Remember this that the enemy hath reproached, O Lord, and that the foolish people have blasphemed thy name. O, deliver not the soul of thy turtle dove unto the multitude of the wicked. Forget not the congregation of thy poor forever have respect unto the covenant. For the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty. Oh, let not the oppressed return ashamed. Let the poor and needy praise thy name. Arise, O God, plead thine own case. Remember how the foolish man reproacheth THEE daily. Forget not the voice of Thine enemies. The tumults of those that rise up against THEE increaseth Continually meditating on the mighty deeds of the Lord can help lift your spirit and bring you hope to comfort you through the night. Knowing anything is possible with God will put your mind at ease and fill your heart with joy. With your next breath, imagine God rising to defend you, his mighty hands lifting you above your troubles. Know these same hands that save you and deliver you are the same hands that created the sun and the moon, the same hands that separate the day from night and the summer from winter. Know you are safe and secure in the mighty hands of the Lord. He will protect you and sustain you through the night. Close your eyes and take a deep breath. Allow God to fill you with his strength. When you exhale, feel his strength flow through your veins, restoring your mind, body, and soul. Breathe in his hope. Breathe out your fears and worries. Put your trust in Him and find rest tonight. Acknowledge any unconfessed sin to the Lord. Confess any doubts you have, ask for his forgiveness all Allow His mercy and love to wash over you. Exhale slowly and release any guilt and shame you are carrying with you tonight. Know his salvation secures your future in him. Rejoice in the salvation of the Lord. Praise him for his power and strength. Thank him for the times he has helped you and delivered you. Thank him for the ways he is faithful in your life. Think of someone who needs God's deliverance. Pray he will intervene on their behalf. Pray he will comfort them with his powerful presence tonight as they sleep. Call upon the Lord and lift up your requests. Cast all your fears and anxieties on him. Know he hears your prayers and he will answer you in his perfect timing. Pray God will protect you from the evil in this world. Pray he will sustain you through the night. Pray God will administer his justice in your life. Pray you will patiently wait for Him to act on your behalf. Pray God will deliver you from your fears and worries. Pray you will keep you in His perfect peace. As you rest, take a deed breath, put your trust in the promises of God. Exhale slowly and release any stress and tension that is still lingering from to day. Close your eyes and allow God's presence to soothe your soul and help you sleep peacefully through the night.
