Hello, I'm Grace. For tonight's Sleepsalm by pray dot Com. We will be meditating on Psalm forty. Get in a comfortable position to listen to God's word. You can lie down on a bed or on the floor, or you can sit in your favorite chair. Keep your back flat straight, relax your neck and shoulders, and rest your hands by your side or gently on your lap. Once you are in a position where you can relax, focus on inhaling and exhaling through your nose. As you breathe in, feel your stomach expand tighten your abdomen for a few seconds. Then slowly exhale, releasing the stress and tension in your muscles. As your body relaxes, control your breathing to clear your mind. As you inhale, imagine being filled with God's presence. Exhale slowly and allow his presence to alleviate your worry and anxiety. Continue taking deep breaths as you focus on God's love and faithfulness. Know he is here to help you and deliver you every day and night. Take a deep breath, open your mind and heart. Exhale slowly. Ask God to speak to you through his word. Ask for his truth to bring you joy and comfort to night. The Bible tells us those who look to the Lord for satisfaction are blessed tonight. Let's put our trust in the Lord and be fully satisfied in him. Psalm forty from the King James's version says, I waited patiently for the Lord, and he inclined unto me and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God. Many shall see it and fear, and shall trust in the Lord. Blessed is the man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies many, O, Lord, my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us ward. They cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee. If I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered. Sacrifice and offering. Thou didst not desire mine ears? Hast thou opened burnt offering and sin offering? Hast thou not required? Then say I, lo I come in the volume of the book, it is written of me. I delight to do Thy will, O my God, YEA, Thy law is within my heart. I have preached righteousness in the Great Congregation, though I have not refrained my lips. O Lord, thou knowest I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart. I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation. I have not concealed thy loving kindness and thy truth from the Great Congregation. Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O Lord, Let thy loving kindness and thy truth continually preserve me. For innumerable evils have compassed me about mine. Iniquities have taken hold of me so that I am not able to look up. They are more than the hairs on my head. Therefore my heart faileth me be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me. O Lord, make haste to help me. Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it. Let them be driven backward and put to shame, that wish me evil. Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto me, aha aha. Let all those that seek THEE rejoice and be glad in THEE. Let such as love thy salvation say continually the Lord be magnified. But I am poor and needy. Yet the Lord thinketh upon me. Thou art my help and my deliverer. Make no tearing, Oh my God. In his word, God reminds us of our great need for him in our weakest moments. He lifts us out of the slimy pit full of mud and mire, and gives us a firm foundation on which we can securely place our feet and rest. We never have to worry about his foundation shaking or crumbling. The same hands that build the found of the world are the same hands that give us a firm foundation in our lives. Rest tonight, knowing you are safe and secure in his strong, loving hands. Breathe in and out slowly, close your eyes, and imagine being surrounded by His love and faithfulness, protecting you and keeping you safe through the night. Know his mercy will always help you. Take a deep breath as you inhale, feel his mighty hands lift your burdens from your shoulders. Relax your neck as you exhale. Surrender any fears and doubts to Him. Release any tension in your body. Take a deep breath and reflect on the wonderful deeds the Lord has donejo in the wonders of his love. Take delight in his word. As you listen to his word, feel your heart overflow with joy and delight. Put your trust in the Lord, and you will find satisfaction for your soul. Breathe in and out. Think of a time when you allowed your worries and anxiety to distract you from doing what God was calling you to do. Ask for his forgiveness. Ask for his help to keep your eyes on Him even when you are waiting for your prayers to be answered. Breathe in and out slowly with your next exhale. Let go of any shame or guilt you may have from confessing your sins. Know He will never withhold his mercy and love from you. Thank God for the wonderful things he has done our life. Thank Him for the prayers he has answered faithfully In your life. Think of someone who is struggling with waiting for an answer to prayer. Pray God will give them hope and patience in their struggles. Pray they will find rest tonight. Cry out to the Lord. Lift up your requests to him. Be patient and wait expectantly on the Lord to answer. You know he is your helper and deliverer. Pray God will guide you along his path and help you put him first in your life. Pray God will give you courage to share what He has done for you with others. Pray his love will be evident in all that you do and say. Pray God will protect you as you sleep. Pray you will experience deep, peaceful rest that will rejuvenate your mind and soul.
