Dear God, as I prepare to lay my head down to rest, I first want to thank you for your justice. Your righteousness extends to the heavens, and your faithfulness to the clouds. Throughout my day, you have been my rock and shield. I am forever grateful for that. However, I come before you tonight with the heavy heart. Intrusive thoughts have plagued my mind for too long, causing my distress and unease. Though I tried to fend them off, I know I cannot do it alone. Please help me, Lord, to find peace and rest. Take these thoughts from me and replace them with gentle reminders of your love and grace. Moreover, I ask you extend a helping hand to those in need. May they find refuge in your loving arms and rest for their weary souls. As I drift off to sleep tonight, I imagine myself lying at the foot of your throng. I imagine your warm embrace holding me close, soothing my anxiety and calming my fears. Thank you for your love and your mercy. May it continue to guide me through another day. Hello, I'm Grace. For tonight's Sleep Psalm by pray dot Com. We will be meditating on Psalm one and forty. Lie down flat on your back, relax your neck and shoulders. Rest your hands gently by your side. Breathe in and out slowly as you exhale, release any tension in your body. Take a deep breath, tw the fresh air to fill your lungs completely. Hold your breath for a few seconds. Exhale slowly, releasing the oxygen into your body, allowing it to rejuvenate every cell, every muscle, every joint. Take another deep breath, lift any stress and anxiety from today to the Lord. Allow his strong hands to carry your burdens. Exhale and feel a heaviness release from your shoulders, opening up your chest and lightening your heart. Meditate on the power and strength of the Lord. Picture his mighty hands helping you and delivering you. Know in his hands you are safe and secure. Nothing can rise against you. Close your eyes and prepare to listen to tonight's psalm. Allow his word to strengthen you as you rest. God's word tells us we live in a world at war, where men you slander and the threat of violence to destroy one another. But his word also reminds us God will deliver those who put their hope in His power and strength. Psalm one hundred forty from the King James version says, Deliver me, o Lord, from the evil man. Preserve me from the violent man, which imagine mischiefs in their heart. Continually are they gathered together for war. They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent, adders poison is under their lips. Sailah, Keep me, o Lord, from the hands of the wicked. Preserve me from the violent man who have purposed to overthrow my goings. The proud have hid a snare for me, and chords. They have spread a net by the wayside. They have set jib for me. Say Lah, I said, unto the Lord, Thou art my God. Hear the voice of my supplications. O Lord, O God, the Lord the strength of my salvation. Thou hast covered my head in the day of battle. Grant not, o Lord, the desires of the wicked further, not his wicked device, lest they exalt themselves. Say lah, as for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them. Let burning coals fall upon them. Let them be cast into the fire, into deep pits, that they rise not up again. Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth. Evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him. I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted and the right of the poor. Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name. The upright shall dwell in thy presence. The Psalmist reminds us the troubles and evil we will face in this world. People will rise against us and slander us because of our faith in God. But we can find hope and joy in the strength of the Lord, for he will deliver us from our enemies and give us rest. Take a deep breath. Feel the Lord's strength fill you, preparing you for the battles in this life. Exhale slowly and put on the helmet of His salvation that will protect you from the evil that lurks in the darkness of the world. Know his mighty hands will protect you from the evil one. Know his right hand will uphold you in the middle of the battlefield, enabling you to stand firm in your faith until the end. Breathe in and out slowly. Bask in the powerful presence of the Lord. Dwell in his safety. Put your hope in his justice and mercy. Know he will bring down those who rise against the poor and afflicted. Know those who follow the Lord and love him will find rest in his power and strength, in the security of his salvation. Acknowledge any unconfessed sin before the Lord. Confess any slander or threats that have left your tongue. Confess any selfishness that has kept you from giving to the poor and needy. Ask God to forgive you for any harsh words you have spoken. Rejoice in the power and strength of the Lord. Rejoice in his salvation. Thank him for the times he has helped you and delivered you. Thank him for the love and mercy he has shown you. Thank him for protecting you from the evil in this world. Think of a person who is experiencing a difficult time right now. Pray God will help them and deliver them from their troubles. Pray he will fill them with his peace and preserve them with his strength. Cry out to the Lord. Tell him about your troubles. Lift your fears and worries to him. Ask for his help and deliverance. Ask for his provision and protection. Know he hears you and will answer you. Pray for the Lord to reveal the evil in this world. Pray he will protect his people from those who seek to destroy them. Pray for the Lord to help you be a champion for the poor and the afflicted. Pray God will fill your heart with his generosity and courage as you defend their cause. Pray for the Lord to protect you from the path and the hands of the wicked. Pray you will put your hope and trust in His strength and salvation so that you may find rest tonight. Breathe in and out slowly, relax your neck and shoulders, soften your fingers and toes. As your body relaxes, allow God's hope to comfort you and his strength to restore you as you sleep peacefully throughout the night.
