I want to be rooted in trusting gratitude to sprout from my branches. Plant my heart in you tonight, Lord, settle me inside your steadfast as I sink blissfully into slumber. Steady my breathing as I in hell. May thankfulness fill my lungs, as I exhale, May praise pour out with every rise and fall of my chest. May I be reminded of who sustains me. May I never forget that your favor keeps me breathing, and your grace keeps my heart beating. Hello, I'm Grace for tonight's Sleep Psalm by Prey dot com. We will be meditating on Psalm fifty two. Let's begin tonight's meditation by getting comfortable. Retreat to a quiet place where you can lay down or sit up in a chair. Make sure your back is flat and straight. Relax your neck and shoulders, rest your arms by your side or on your lap, and take a few deep, cleansing breaths. Try to control your breathing to help your body relax. As you breathe in and out, Notice how your chest rises and falls with each breath. The slower you inhale, the more your chest expands when you exhale. After allowing your chest to fully expand more oxygen will flow to rejuvenate your body. Take another deep breath and release any tension in your body. As you exhale, clear your mind and focus your thoughts on God. Picture him as the righteous judge that will vindicate you, defend you, and uphold you. Meditate on his goodness, on his faithfulness. Take a deep breath, exhale slowly, feeling your mind and heart settle as you get ready to listen to God's word. Ask him to reveal his truth to you. Know his truth will help you experience his hope and peace as you prepare for sleep. Seeing evil on display in our world can make us fearful of our present and worried about our future. But the Bible reminds us God does not allow evil to prosper forever. His justice will prevail. So tonight, let's put our confidence in Him and find rest, knowing we are safe and secure in his hands. Psalm fifty two from the King James version says, why boasteth thou thyself in mischief? O, mighty man, The goodness of God endureth continually. The tongue divisive mischiefs like a sharp razor, working deceitfully. Thou lovest evil more than good, and lying rather than speak righteousness. Selah, thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue. God shall likewise destroy thee forever. He shall take thee away, and pluck THEE out of thy dwelling place, and wrought thee out of thy land of the Living Silah. The righteous also shall see and fear and shall laugh at him.

Lo.

This is the man that made not God his strength, but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness. But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God. I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever. I will praise THEE forever because thou hast done it, and I will wait on thy name, for it is good before thy saints. Meditating on God's word shifts our perspective of the world around us. Without his truth and justice, our world seems horrifying and hopeless. But when we listen to God's word and know he is in control and he is the righteous judge that will make things right, we can find hope and peace and rest safely and securely in Him. Take a deep breath. As your chest rises, No, God will lift you up, and you will rise above those who seek to harm you. When you breathe out and your chest falls, No, God's mighty hands will stress down those who do evil. In his eyes, God is your stronghold in times of trouble. Nothing and no one can overcome you, because God's strength and power will protect you through the long days and the dark nights. Breathe in and out slowly. Focus on God's truth that transcends time. Focus on his unfailing love for you. Close your eyes and imagine being an olive tree rooted in the fertile soil of God's word and in the strong foundation of his dwelling place. Know you will grow and flourish as you draw closer to God and allow his word to guide you and sustain you. Take another deep breath as you breathe out. Put your confidence in God's word and feel the stress in your muscles and joints. Leave your body. Feel your body soften and your mind quiet down. Think of a time when you doubted God's goodness and faithfulness. Confess when you try to bring your own form of judgment to a difficult situation. Ask for his forgiveness and for him to help you. Trust in Him to make things right. Take a deep breath. Feel his mercy and love wash over you. Exhale slowly, and release any guilt and shame you are experiencing. Breathe then and out put your hope in the name of the Lord. Praise Him for his goodness and for his unfailing love. Thank Him for the times his justice has prevailed in your life and in our world. Thank Him for the times he has sustained you. Think of someone who needs to experience God's justice in their life. Pray God will restore them and will hold those who do evil against them accountable. Pray they will put their trust in God and find rest tonight. Lay your requests before the Lord. Surrender any fears and doubts you are holding on to completely trust in Him and know His justice will prevail in your life and in the world. Pray for God to reveal the evil and wickedness in this world. Pray he will guide you and help you do His good work on earth. Pray for God to sustain you through difficult times and times of persecution. Pray he will keep you safe through the night. Pray for God to take away your fears and alleviate your stress so that you can experience deep, RESTful sleep tonight that will restore your mind, body, and soul. Breathe in and out slowly. No God will sustain you throughout the night. As your body relaxes, allow God to refresh your soul and bring you peace to help you rest through the night.
