A teenager allegedly armed with a weapon has been shot by police in Far North Queensland, authorities are searching for a thief who stole thousands of dollars worth of jewellery from a store in Sydney. Plus, the NSW State Government will offer households and small businesses $1500 to join virtual power plants.

Authorities were called to a pub in Townsville around five point thirty yesterday afternoon, where they say the seventeen year old girl lunged at police with a knife. Officers say she was shot in the abdomen and first aid was administered. The girl is in a stable condition in hospital after undergoing surgery overnight. Authorities are searching for a thief who stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry from a store in Sydney. The man entered Silver and Goldie on Pitt Street in the CBD just before five pm yesterday. He pulled fire alarms to force and evacuation of the store before threatening a female worker. The man fled with a backpack full of jewelry. The New South Wales state government will offer households and small businesses one five hundred dollars to join a virtual power plants. The plants help stabilize the grid by supplying stored power during peak times. This aims to assist the federal scheme which cuts battery costs by thirty percent. The increase to incentives will be rolled out from July first for those who purchase and install their battery. At least eleven people, including a gunman, have died in a school shooting in Austria. Twenty eight people have been injured in the attack. Authorities say the alleged gunman was a twenty one year old former student of the school. Police have not confirmed how many of the dead were students, and are yet to determine a motive.
