This week on the program we talk to John Ugolini, the talent booker and buyer for Wicker Park Fest. Ever wonder what it’s like to seek out and secure some of the best bands and musicians for one of Chicago’s premier street festivals, who often go on to fame and fortune in the recording industry? John gives us the ins and outs of who - and what- he looks for when securing talent (think Chappell Roan at Subterranean!) Then, we visit with Greektown Chicago SSA Chair Eve Moran about the latest installment of gorgeous artwork along Halsted Street in Greektown. Eve also runs the Greektown Arts Committee and tells us all about the colorful sculptured urns that adorn the city streets and are painted by students and community leaders. Next, we'll tell you about two amazing charitable organizations with big fundraisers this month. First up – the H-Foundation’s Goombay Bash at Navy Pier on July 26th. Andrea talks to Executive Director Cortney Hausser about this Hawaiian-themed gala with guest of honor and Hollywood royalty Rob Lowe! Finally from Lincoln Park Community Services, Cheryl Hamilton-Hill joins us to talk about their big gala and ways you can help this incredible Chicago organization.
