Episode 30 - Lights, Music, Artwork!

First up, it’s “A Night of Broadway”, the Illinois Conservatory for the Arts’ annual gala & concert featuring a star-studded lineup of Broadway performers singing their signature selections and other Broadway hits - with a 20-piece live orchestra. Next, we head to the Newberry Consort for their latest concert “Corkscrews, Coils and Clocks,” playing March 13 at Bond Chapel at the University of Chicago in Hyde Park, March 14 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Evanston, and March 15 at Ganz Hall at Roosevelt University in the Loop.  Andrea talks to Artistic Director Liza Malamut about the concert which celebrates the revolutionary inventions and sounds that changed the course of music in Europe - and beyond! Then, Chicagoland’s longest running musical theatre, the Marriot Theatre has opened its 2026 season with the long-requested fan favorite - Little Shop of Horrors! Andrea talks to Artistic Director Peter Sullivan about this tasty musical theater recipe combined with a healthy handful of love, plenty of greed, and a dash of carnivorous magic! Through 3/15. Show & Tell, Ep. 194: A Night of Broadway in Naperville, Little Shop of Horrors at the Marriott Theatre, Newberry Consort's "Corkscrews, Coils, and Clocks" and the Northside Wedding Walk

It's a sure sign spring is in the air!  The Orchid Show at the Chicago Botanic Garden is in full bloom!  Andrea talks to CBG's Jodi Zombolo about this year's theme, "Feelin' Groovy," which spins the dial back to an era of bold patterns and bright petals. Four major stars, three plays, one major cover band ... and four iconic venues!  This week on the show, Andrea talks to the stars of "Holiday" at the Goodman Theatre, "Birds of North America" at the Red Orchid Theatre, "Dance of Death" at the Steppenwolf and Arrival from Sweden: the music of ABBA - performing at the Auditorium Theatre. 


First up, Andrea visits with the legendary Jeff Perry, one of the stars of "Dance of Death" at the Steppenwolf Theatre!  Jeff talks about the 50th anniversary of the theatre he co-founded and the camaraderie and deep friendships amongst the ensemble members.
