View descriptionShare

This week on the show, it’s a Halloween extravaganza! We’ll take you to the nation’s premiere Halloween Parade – Arts in the Dark, tell you about one of a kind performances of Dracula and Frankenstein…and creep you out with a Nightmare on Clark!  First up, Mark Kelly joins us to talk about the 10th annual Arts in the Dark Halloween parade that marches down State Street and features all of Chicago’s arts communities including fire breathing participants, giant glow creatures and celebrates 10 Chicagoans who are immersed in the city’s arts landscape.  Then, we head take you to a Nightmare on Clark in Wrigleyville where District Manager Evan Chew takes us inside Bamboo Club which has been transformed into a 3 story haunted venue complete with scary creatures, a Halloween maze, and scary shots. Then, we head to Chicago’s historical Studebaker Theatre in the Fine Arts building to see a performance of Frankenstein like you’ve never seen it before!  In Manual Cinema’s thrilling version of the classic Gothic tale Frankenstein, Drew Dir’s Chicago-based performance collective imaginatively combines shadow puppetry, cinematic techniques, and live sound effects and music in a haunting show unlike any other. Then, we go to the gorgeous Athenaeum Theatre where Composer and progressive rock guitarist Paul Bielatowicz takes the stage with a musical performance and multi-media production to coincide with the silent movie and the original tale of Dracula, Nosferatu!
