As the first Black woman to win the Eisner Award - a literary prize for comic books - Dr. Sheena Howard knows a thing or two about writing incredible superhero stories. But it took longer for her to realize that she could define her own path and become the hero in her own life story. On this episode of She Pivots, Dr. Howard dives into her dislike for the single parent stereotypes, finishing her PhD in three years, writing for DC Comics and Marvel, leaving an abusive relationship, and how she learns from her regrets.
