G’day there my friends, and welcome to another week of Blues With A Feeling This week, we’re tipping our hats to a man whose shadow stretches from Linden, Texas all the way to Paris, France — the great T‑Bone Walker — and his 1969 Grammy‑winning masterpiece Good Feelin’.
Recorded in Paris in ’68, it’s T‑Bone in full command — unhurried, unbothered, and playing like a man who’s lived enough life to know he doesn’t need to prove a thing. The horns shimmy and sway, and T‑Bone glides through it all with that sly, conversational tone that changed the course of the electric guitar forever.
Across the show, we’ll wander track by track through all twelve cuts — from the easy swagger of “Good Feelin’” to the deep‑down ache of “Reconsider,” the playful grin of “Poontang,” and the late‑night glow of “Sail On Little Girl.” It’s a portrait of a pioneer standing tall in the twilight, shining like a Parisian streetlight
And wrapped around that feature, I’ve stitched together three sets of brand‑new releases — Sean McDonald, Laura Chavez, Mike Finnigan, Harrell Davenport, Hussy Hicks, Selwyn Birchwood, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Gabe Stillman, Studebaker John, JT Lauritsen, Taj Mahal & the Phantom Blues Band, Lil’ Ed & The Blues Imperials and more.
