Capital gains tax, compulsory KiwiSaver, a land tax and a $30 billion super bill. Which election policies will shape your wealth?

Eve McCallum leans right. Alex Martin leans left. The two 27-year-olds host Both Sides Now, and they’re here to tell us which election issues matter to Gen Z investors, and how they each see the next 30 years.

Hear whether a capital gains tax arrives a decade too late, whether taxing gains beats cutting income tax, and why neither sees property as a sure thing for their generation. Why does Eve call compulsory KiwiSaver “National’s best policy”? Should we raise the retirement age? We weigh fast-track consents against the trade-offs, and look at the Opportunity Party’s land tax and ACT’s plan to stop taxing KiwiSaver earnings.

Plus, why both guests want financial education in schools, and what they found in their partners’ KiwiSaver funds.
