AI Irish songs have a strange way of sounding like they always existed. This St. Patrick's Day, an AI account started taking classic songs and running them through Celtic folk, and the results landed somewhere between ridiculous and genuinely perfect.

Have you ever heard something that made no sense until it made complete sense? Journey. A-ha. Avril Lavigne. None of them have any business on a St. Patrick's Day playlist, and yet the AI versions land in a way that's harder to explain than it is to enjoy.

What changed isn't the songs. The songs are exactly what they were. What changed is where they live now, and St. Patrick's Day got a lot more interesting as a result.

A Canadian student found it and pointed it out, because for her, this kind of division was simply outside the range of anything she had imagined. That gap between those who carry the weight and those who don't even know the weight exists is where Irish history actually lives.

Albert Einstein married his cousin. So did Franklin Roosevelt. A woman from Punta Gorda pointed out it makes for a nice small wedding party, which is, honestly, economical.

 

Meanwhile Cardi B is furious at Hamilton, Ontario. Her show there was the only date on her tour that didn't sell out. Ninety-eight percent sold. Tickets starting at $118. Sold out is sold out.
