Calgary rental prices have dropped. Two months free rent, six months free parking, all utilities included. And it still is not enough because the average two-bedroom in Calgary runs between 700 and 830 square feet. A study by lighting brand SoFairy found couples need a minimum of 1,800 square feet to avoid chronic stress. The math is not close.
The hosts track what that gap looks like for two people working from home with nowhere to put a desk, let alone storage.
Toronto is worse. Montreal averages between $1,930 and $2,093 for a two-bedroom. Calgary sits just below that at $1,850 to $1,995. The prices are close. The frustration is not.
