Floor crossing in Canada puts you in a position nobody voted for. Your MP just joined the party you didn't elect them to join. No by-election. No mandate. Just a press release and a new seat in the House. And when the Liberal caucus chair was asked who approached whom and whether any incentives were involved, he could not answer either question. He just knows it happened.

Think about what it feels like when the person sent to represent you quietly moves to the other side. Not because their views changed. Because the governing benches are warmer and the opposition is not much fun anymore. The one real check the system has is the next election. MPs who cross the floor tend not to fare well when voters finally get a say.

The minority government math makes all of it worse. A bare majority means every MP in the new caucus has leverage too. Cross the floor to reach it, and now those same MPs can threaten to cross back. The maneuvering does not stop when the crossing is done. It just changes direction.

The invention of the internet started with one researcher who could not find his data. You know that feeling. Files on a different machine, a different system, commands you have to relearn every time. For Tim Berners-Lee at CERN in 1989, that frustration became a formal proposal to his bosses. His boss read it, called it vague but exciting, and said no.

Think about what it feels like when someone with approval power shrugs at your clearest idea and walks away. Berners-Lee kept building. He eventually published the paper in 1991, launched the world's first website, and every concept running your browser right now traces back to that rejected document. The original site is still on CERN's servers today. Static page, a few links, nothing remarkable to look at. Everything is in there.

The line from that March 12th, 1989 proposal to the tab you have open right now is direct and unbroken. It started with a no, and it changed everything anyway.

Fortnite leaks are not supposed to come from the inside. You picture a hacker, a back door, someone typing fast in a dark room. But when Epic Games filed a lawsuit and named a defendant, it was not a hacker. It was a former contractor named Hayden Cohen, an associate producer with a key card and a Twitter account called Adrian FNinfo.

Think about what it feels like to sit on information the whole internet wants and know you got it with a job offer. The Office crossover leaked a full month before the official announcement. Epic went to Twitter and confirmed legal action against a former contractor who repeatedly leaked confidential partner IP. Adrian's account went dark. The leaks stopped.

The game is free to play and has generated twenty billion dollars in revenue. One insider apparently decided that access was worth risking a career over. Whether that makes them a leaker or something else is a much harder question than it first looks.
