Good News Tuesday lands on one story that earns the name more than most. A six-year-old named Levi has leukemia and could not be surrounded by people for his birthday.

 

His family posted about it on TikTok. A thousand people showed up for a birthday parade: the National Guard, neighboring police, the local fire department, biker clubs, car clubs, off-road groups, the Boise hockey team, a helicopter, and other cancer survivors. All for Levi.

 

The rest of Good News Tuesday includes Drake making Billboard history with three albums in the top three positions in the same week, a slinky descending fifty-three stairs for a new world record, and the Montreal Victoire signing the city's Golden Book after winning the Walter Cup.

Jerry Agar's daughter is an athletic therapist touring North America with theater productions, fixing circus performers and dancers between show runs and dropping in when the schedule opens up. She is at the point where the work is still good and the road is starting to cost something.

His version of not waiting anymore is a brand new 2024 Indian Springfield motorcycle, a father-son food podcast called Flavor Files on four radio stations, and a chicken dinner he once cooked for his chef son that turned out fine because the chef did not have to make it himself.

The mental health case is direct: anxiety, isolation, lack of movement, and screen time are already pulling in one direction. Taking recess out adds fuel. Chicago removed it for forty years. Canada has no guardrails preventing the same thing.

The playground paradox lands here too. The old equipment looked dangerous and built resilience. The asphalt schoolyard looks safe and produces kids with no sense of their own physical limits. The research says less equipment makes children less safe, not more.
