Ian Wereley tracks the full picture: natural gas, refined petrochemicals, a significant share of the world's helium supply, plastics, and the fertilizers that keep food prices from climbing further. A company in Regina recently received a cease and desist for using helium on balloons because hospitals had priority. Ian Wereley says it is only going to get worse.

He also puts 20,000 international sailors currently trapped on ships inside the Persian Gulf as a number most people have not heard, and one that is quietly pulling vessels out of global shipping lanes at a moment when the world can least afford it.

Devil Wears Prada 2 reunites Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci and Steve Stebbing says it justifies every year of the wait. The Miranda Priestly character has more depth than the original and the journalism-in-collapse storyline gives the sequel a reason to exist beyond nostalgia. Hocum is a different matter entirely. Irish director Damien McCarthy's film had audiences screaming at South by Southwest and Steve Stebbing says at least one person peed themselves at an advance screening. He is not recommending it for the easily frightened. Deep Water, with Aaron Eckhart and Ben Kingsley surviving both a plane crash and a shark attack, is the fun one.
