Afghanistan veteran Tyler Wentzell describes how it felt to watch the Taliban retake control of Afghanistan in 2021, and why he’s not sure if he’ll ever make peace with the sacrifices he and others made in the country.
Sharon Birchall Chandler, the daughter of Second World War veteran Leonard Birchall, describes how she felt when her father came home after more than three years in Japan as a prisoner of war.
Mr. Robert D. Taylor-Vaisey was born on December 17, 1948 in Peterborough, Ontario. He is the son of Second World War veterans Flight Sergeant Myrtle E.
Captain Andrew. A McCuish, who served in Afghanistan on reconnaissance vehicles, recalls a special ceremony held at the combat outpost near where his comrade Larry Rudd was killed. When he returned to Canada, McCuish found Remembrance Day ceremonies difficult. They brought back painful memories and stirred up survivor’s guilt. It was a long time before McCuish could appreciate them again. 
Master Corporal Anouk Beauvais, a veteran of Bosnia and Afghanistan, remembers her time in the army every day. But she doesn't attend Remembrance Day ceremonies.
