A one or two year old grizzly bear got loose at the Calgary Zoo, sparking a closure notice and a very fast internet reaction. Reddit users found the escape, and the bear, named Fitz, is already a small legend thanks to a photo caption that reads exactly like a training montage.

 

The same city delivered a second story worth seeing, a two hour lightning storm that hit the Calgary Tower over and over while dozens of local storm chasers captured it from every angle imaginable. The result is the kind of footage that looks staged, except none of it was.

 

Between a runaway bear and a tower getting struck on repeat, it is one of those stretches where the local news writes itself.
