Dr. Rachel Rubin is a board-certified urologist and fellowship-trained sexual medicine specialist, known from Mel Robbins and Diary of a CEO. Here she skips the greatest hits and has the conversation she doesn’t get to have elsewhere.

Rachel says the words she most wants to hear from a patient on hormones aren’t “my libido is back.” They’re “I feel like me again.” She admits we’re still in the “leeches and bloodletting stage” of understanding the human body, and that her willingness to say “I don’t know” is part of what makes her trusted. She explains why she believes in the biopsychosocial model: she met with every sex therapist and pelvic floor therapist in her area when she started practice, and one by one the therapists became her patients.
